With her as a Vastaya, you would think that she has the best of both worlds: Human-like appearance with the strength, magic, and longevity of her people. What makes humans so special that she's willing to kill to become one?
From what I remember, didn't she gain a conscience which stopped her from wanting to become fully human? I liked the idea of "Hey I can be human" and suddenly "What am I doing? This is wrong!"
Then again, I love questioning morals.
Ahri never was, isn't and will never be a "Vastaya". She's kitsune, period. Riot can't make a good lore because they're incompetent to do so.
Ahri is Kumiho. The Nine Tailed Fox based on korean mythology, a kitsune is a japanese myth that tells of a wise fox that brings good luck and fortune to those who seek the fox's guidance and advice. Ahri is the opposite, wise yes, but destructive by nature. She gains a conscience from controlling the minds of countless victims to further her own agenda. Since, animals don't have morality, but then again some humans don't either. She wants to be normal, but in reality. She has this magical power and wants to be jane doe? Instead of Ahri. This is where it should be left to the individual to decide. Are you the Ahri wanting to become human to fit in, not stand out. Be a shade of blah with a tint of boring. Or are you the astounding Fox Ahri who knows shes unique, takes what makes her different and embraces her gift or curse(however deemed fit) and lives until the skys fall down. But literally you hit the nail on the dot, Human no magic or *other and be indescribable. I couldn't expect anyone to really say no..
I bet that there's something humans have that Vastaya lack, something that can be considered rather controversial to Vastaya beliefs.
Or Ahri never really felt like she fit in with her tribe. Idk, definitely needs a look.
Well, we don't know her new lore yet. While it's possible that she'll maintain the soul-stealing aspect, it's also jsut as possible that it will be dropped. Remember that Evelynn might lose her current short story with her VGU.
So yeah, she might not actually keep that.

Well judging by Rakans and Xayahs quotes humans aren't really nice towards the Vastaya. For example one of them mentions that they are put in cages.
Thats why she might not want to be a Vastaya,because Vastaya aren't accepted among humans and humans simply make up most of the world population.
Probably because she doesn't want to be a furry, which is commendable.
It's like being in a cult, all fun and games until it's time to drink the punch.
That's her old lore, in that one, she is not Vastayan, and the reason she "consumes" humans is because it helps restore her body, because in the lore she is a fox who gets a human body that she has been longing for, but in order to become more and more human (hence why she is not completely with fox tails and ears) she has to kill unexpecting male victims. It's based also off of Chinese mythology, where a nine tailed fox will appear to those who commit bad omens as a woman, and she kills those who have bad karma, if you have good karma, instead you see a white fox, which grants you luck.
Her lore is as-of-now outdated.
That tail is getting annoying.
