I'm actually okay with this. A bad rework is bad forever and the last thing we want is a rushed Swain, so like The Witcher 3 this just means we'll get more and better stuff once he is released.

When 7.24 comes out we'll get the first patch of the next year already on the PBE. So this means that Swain won't be in the first patch of the next year.
EDIT: Lol why am I getting downvoted? The first patch of january always hits the PBE in december,as the patches containing the lunar skins almost always hit the PBE in december.

Solidair31 votesAs far as I know, she's still a ways off. If I remember Reav3's list accurately, what we're going to see going forward: Swain VGU > new champion > Irelia VGU > new champion > Aatrox ability rework is the current order of events, I believe.
And we usually get one "thing" per month, so assuming Swain comes out in January (though I am somewhat suspicious about this, I feel like February might be more accurate, but we'll see) the earliest we'd likely see Irelia is March, April at the latest.

I mean last season Dreadnova Gp and the warring kingdoms skins hit the PBE on 12/6,even though the actual patch with them came out in january and before that we had lunar revel Wukong hitting the PBE on the 12/19

And once that hits the live servers,we'll get the 8.1.patch on the PBE,which will remain on the pbe over the winter break and will be released in january. So the 8.1.patch will hit the PBE servers somehwere between 14th-18th-december this year.

The last VGU groups had at least 6 months between their latest releases(Galio came out 6 months after Yorick,Eve came out 7 months after him and Warwick came out 6 months after Ryze and Urgot came out 6 months after Warwick). Since Urgot was the last project of this group and came out in july it makes sense for Swain to be revealed and released in january or febuary. next year. However febuary is much more likely,because Swain will likely still have multiple models(his body,beatrice and ravenform) and the winter break in which they won't continue to work on him before his release. Not to mention that leaving him on the PBE over the winter break would likely kill a lot of the hype around him.

GreenLore1 votesNew champs and reworks take a lot of time and are usually released 6-7 months after the previous project of the team(sure there aren't fixed teams anymore,but they still have 5 groups working on projects at the same time). So if Swain would appear on the PBE this december,then he would be indeed rushed as the previous rework of his group was Urgot who came out in july(Eve was done by another group)
Solidair31 votesRiot basically shuts down in mid-late december for the holidays, so it's not so surprising that they wouldn't put out a brand new rework out then.
I'm sure we can expect him in January or February even, depending on how things go. Last we heard from Meddler, things seem to be going well with Swain.
