I'm actually okay with this. A bad rework is bad forever and the last thing we want is a rushed Swain, so like The Witcher 3 this just means we'll get more and better stuff once he is released.
He never was coming. 7.24 is the last patch of 2017 and it's already underway. After that Riot is going on Winter break and we won't see anything until January 2018.
Just a word of reference, I'm not speaking on behalf of Surr@20, Swain's still a bit off last I heard so he's not gonna be like right there like Warwick this year but he's still the closest big thing
Honestly thats not very surprisng. The last VGU groups had at least 6 months between their latest releases(Galio came out 6 months after Yorick,Eve came out 7 months after him and Warwick came out 6 months after Ryze and Urgot came out 6 months after Warwick). Since Urgot was the last project of this group and came out in july it makes sense for Swain to be revealed and released in january or febuary. next year. However febuary is much more likely,because Swain will likely still have multiple models(his body,beatrice and ravenform) and the winter break in which they won't continue to work on him before his release. Not to mention that leaving him on the PBE over the winter break would likely kill a lot of the hype around him.
I thought we wouldn't see anymore reworks for the rest of this year, at least until Jan/Feb
Riot basically shuts down in mid-late december for the holidays, so it's not so surprising that they wouldn't put out a brand new rework out then.
I'm sure we can expect him in January or February even, depending on how things go. Last we heard from Meddler, things seem to be going well with Swain.
