Why isn't the story team pushing for another type of game set in runeterra?

So I was watching the trailer for warwick's reboot and there was something pretty glaring about it. So here's the thing: Riot's story team wants to tell stories and show off all these places hinted about in the world but you can never go there. You can never see it or explore it. You get stories, events, and maybe a temporary map with a theme of that place, but you can't really go there.

The core game is so tied to one map in SR, you can't really see or do anything. At least in overwatch we get a dozen maps of different locales with different game types (stupid hanamora).

So why isn't riot making a second game series where they can better show off the world and let us see it and explore it? It could be an MMO or a large scale RPG which gives people just a taste of everything or it could be like the elder scrolls series or dishonored were we could get a detailed close up of a single area. This would help with another issue in that LOL is perpetually stuck in time (more or less) but the world and the story needs to move forward.

You guys are obviously trying to do something you can't with LOL, so why aren't you trying to make a product that furthers that end?

How do you know they're not?

Maybe they are and it's deep in development.

Once the Universe base is fully complete (aka we got to know about all major factions and maybe add few more maps) nothing holds Riot from using thematic skins for Summoners Rift.

Didn't Riot buy a company that made fighting games last year or something? That could mean something I suppose.

Overall I think the resources for such a game aren't there. Also a game like this might not offer that many narrative options,I mean they'd likely want the story to be self contained,so that it doesn't affect the written lore all too much(similar to the mechs vs minions story)

I think it'd be pretty awesome to get a League of Legends, Dynasty Warriors/Hyrule Warriors type of game. Nintendo did it for Legend of Zelda and it turned out really good, though the roster of champions would be HUGE.

I've wanted this for so long...sadly they will never do it. They chose minions vs mechs as a second game. That makes is clear they won't do a game like that. Their core business is in League of Legends: The popular online MOBA. Starting another game after MvM may kill their funds. I mean, the same resources and efforts could have been made into a mmorpg.....but hey I don't work at Riot. All we can really do is just indulge into the lore, it's not bad atm.
