Shower thought: Darkwill, as a npc, had more on impact on Runeterra than 75% of champions

That's really funny to think about though I think it's really awesome than a npc is so important.

I think League lore would feel pretty small if all the important, named characters were also playable champions.

And I wouldn't say 75% of champions. Darkwill is perhaps of equal importance to 5 or so champions in the Swain's potential coup storyline. There are plenty of other ones which have nothing to do with him. In fact, the only champions I can think of who are perhaps less important than Darkwill are Annie, Nocturne, Shaco, Fiddlesticks, and Elise - so basically champs who are in dire need of a lore update.

League's story as a whole is the kind of story that isn't really set up to ever move forward with all of it's champions because Riot has pretty much linked Story to Game as we've seen with Gangplank's death in lore caused him to be removed from game. This means if you are dead, you can't be in the game.

That's why Alt-skins create separate stories which allow Riot to do whatever the hell they want. NPCs also have a lot more freedom to do whatever as long as they don't kill any champions. Which really puts a damper on plot progression of different characters when none of them can ever really be truly harmed more than they already have been.

Was Urgot a servant of Darkwill? seems like he was the last regent of Noxus, according to posts here and Urgot got sold to Zaun because he didn't side with Swain, didn't he?
