I think this is a belt piece? Not sure how to put it but

The teaser looks like an upgraded version of the belt piece.

Remember that Riot wanted to base off Swain's base remodel on Tyrant Swain and they even went as far to say that tyrant Swain is how he looked like when he became ruler of Noxus.

All this time, I had kinda hoped that Swain and Beatrice were kinda one thing. When Swain turns into a bird-demon, he actually fuses together with Beatrice. Which might mean that Beatrice the fluffy bird is actually a demon and the real mastermind. She probably saved Swain's life to use him.

....However, knowing Riot, they're gonna disprove and ruin this awesome theory once Swain gets his rework. :( I'm actually really worried about Swain's rework......

i dont think she needs a gameplay update but VU maybe eventually. anyways tho yes i very very much hope captain mf can become her base splash because its not only 071234023649128374918263x better than her current base art but it fits with her character much better

I expect it'll get a few more bells and whistles to 'try' to make it seem the premium skin it was, but since it's likely that the whole aesthetic of Noxus has really shifted, the Tyrant skin style doesn't actually 'fit' anymore. Could always be seen as a 'ceremonial garb' or something.

Some random trivia, I've been playing Total War: Warhammer 2 lately, and while playing Dark Elves, I found that his Tyrant Skin does look similar to the Black Guards of Naggrond: https://totalwarwarhammer.gamepedia.com/media/totalwarwarhammer.gamepedia.com/3/35/Wh2_main_def_black_guard.png?version=d909e7e736d1548a3abbe9a59106e19b

I don't have a screenshot of the back of the cape, but basically with a little editing, I can make almost an identical reskin of Tyran Swain using the Black Guard as a base model.

And Swain even basically looks and sorta-acts like a Lord of Change from the Warhammer universe - that being a giant demon bird obsessed with plots.

There's a surprising amount of Warhammer-ness to Swain overall.

i like to think swain is either vastayan/part vastayan, beatrice is a demon he sold his soul to in exchange for power, or he sold his soul to another demon like tahm kench who in turn gave him beatrice who is the source of his power

Too late, it was confirmed when Xayah and Rakan were released (look up on YouTube the videos Xayah Special Interactions and/or Rakan Special Interactions, a channel called Skin Spotlights created them, and in one or both of those, their VOs confirm it).

No it is not confirmed.

First of all those quotes may become out of date later if Riot does not continue with the idea Swain has vastayan connections.

Second those quotes don't confirm he is a Vastayn. He could be Vastayan, or half vastayan, or got a transfusion, or stole some power, or be an alternate but similar creature, have confused rakan, etc.

They literally came out not even six months ago, so I seriously doubt it's going to get retconed.

Also, I'm sorry if I gave off the impression that I believed that he was completely vastayan, because I don't. It is my firm belief that he either , as you said, is half vastayan or acquired vastayan blood through some yet unknown means.

In a post made prior to Xayah and Rakan's release (Linked here: https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/vastaya-field-journal/ ), an explorer encountered a man with vastayan blood, but not enough to make him like the other chimeric creatures we've seen. However, with the vastayan blood he has, he is able to transform into a pig-man. I don't know about you, but this is awfully reminiscent of Swain's ability to turn into a bird-man. Even if it wasn't confirmed, one could easily draw the connections.

Honestly, I find it harder to not believe he's partially vastayan.

No, Arakadia is indeed correct. The VO towards Swain is tentative and may not stay, just like the Eve lore they made last year to tide us over until the VGU. They removed that Eve lore now.

Even though Eve has not one, but two special interaction with Vayne that say, and I quote:

"Have I told you how your parents cried with their final breaths?" "Don't worry, love. You'll join them soon."

Once again, even if you discard the special interactions, the similarities as I stated later on are far too glaring to be ignored.

The story he is talking about is not about Vayne, but the story in which Evelynn visited Zaun to get hired as an assassin and this story was teasing Camille.

It was fairly new, but did get retconned with Eve's VGU.

That lore was meant for old Eve, not new Eve. Old Eve was an assassin, and new Eve is an actual demon. Which do you think it fits more? That story was released back during the Shadow Isles event that came with Yorick’s VGU. They weren’t even working on her at the time, so of course it got retconned. I don’t know why you people are being so adamant. It’s honestly harder to not believe he has some sort of connections to the vastaya.

Don't get me wrong, I think that Swain is going to have connections to the vastaya, simply because I think it is the most logical explanation for his powers.

I am just pointing out that it isn't completely confirmed yet, it is still possible that they are going another route with him, since there were precedent cases and a Rioter stated that they are willing to remove the interaction with Rakan if it turns out to not be related to vastaya.

And the argument that it was meant for old Eve and not the new applies to Swain as well. The Rakan interaction is aimed at current Swain, a Rioter stated that himself.

At the time they made that quote (which was much farther before release), they were not working on Swain. Now that their working on him, its very likely he has some very heavy connections to Vastayans if he isn't one.

However it really isn't confirmed and now that they've actually started solid work on him, it might be retconned.

Rakan's line to Swain was a reference to original Swain, not an indication of future Swain, and it will get deleted if they feel that Vastayan is not the way to go.

Its lazy to toss everything in and say: OK that makes sense. Also they are not all one people. Their lores were more interesting because it made Valoran a world where talking animals can just exist independent of eachother. The connection ruins who they are. B4 Rengar was a one of a kind hunter guy. Now he is just another vastayan. I think it is cool that we ca have random animal creatures exist independent of eachother (like irl). Making them all one people takes away the uniqueness and realism.

Thar’s like saying it’s boring that we have so many human characters. You misunderstand the point of having Vastaya. It’s to provide reason for their existence and nothing more. Making Swain at least partially Vastaya does not take away from his character at all. All it does is tell us where he got his powers.

Rengar still has a great storyline in the new lore: He was the chief’s son who was cast out because he was small, but worked hard to overcome adversity and killed his father to assume position of chief and show everyone how strong he had become. Oh and by the way, he’s Vastayan, so that’s a thing. Don’t you see how little his species has to do with his lore? It’s the same thing with all the other champs who were shown to be Vastayan, and I can only assume Swain will be no different.
