So based on our knowledge of Darkin locations

Two have been confirmed to be deep within each faction with Rhaast sealed in Noxus and Varus sealed in Ionia. A third was hinted in Varus’s story to be sealed in Shurima, but she’s no longer there.

So it’s best to assume that the Darkin are sealed in old territories or places of great power.

Where am I going with this? Well what area is perfect for sealing up Evil not because of a great magical power but because it opposes magic?

Demacia

I have a theory that either Varus’s sister was moved there, or the final unconfirmed Darkin is held prisoner by magic absorbing stone.

And personally, I hope it’s an Axe, lance, or spear.

That crypt Varus walks into to try and find his sister.......doesn't it sound awfully similar to the crypt Cassiopeia and Sivir opened up that let out Xerath and Renekton?

Hmm...potentially. But I’d imagine a place like Shurima has a lot of crypts of similar design.

I wouldn't say so. This river had revealed a ruin, and the Tomb of the Emperors is within the city of Shurima. Sivir and Cass opened the Tomb before Azir got all the rivers flowing, and I doubt Varus would be able to sneak in to the capital without Azir knowing.

Not to mention the fact that Varus doesn't remember Shurima having rivers, which dates the darkin's invasion to being post Shurima's fall. The Tomb would've been sealed and inaccessible at that point, so they probably shoved this lass darkin in some other Shuriman ruin.

Shurima (south) Demacia (West) <--- unless something else is in that direction it would be cool for them to have sealed some powerful darkin beneath all that petricite. Does petricite even affect them?

If petricite absorbs magic and Darkin powers are inherently magical, then it probably works in sealing them.

Like seastone cuffs to devil fruit users in One Piece.

So Demacia could potentially have the most brutal darkin of all there...

Would love to see Demacia's reaction if they've been digging away at releasing something that magical all this time.

SO like Varus, the Darkin seem to have been locked away in magical wells. Varus was in the well in Ionia, there's also a well in Noxus (Rhaast), a well in Shurima, a well in the Shadow Isles (we can see that the well is very similar to the one in Shurima through Yorick and Kalista's lore) , and we don't know where the fifth is. HOWEVER, we know that Aatrox is tied to Freljord so we can assume that the fifth well is there. I think that instead of Demaica, the fifth Darkin will be from the Shadow Isles.

I think that the five locations that the Darkin were locked away are wells in:

Freljord Noxus Ionia The Shadow Isles Shurima

Maybe since the water in Shurima is pure, it means that the Darkin already escaped? Maybe the Darkin is the new Irelia since she works around controlling her weapon/has lifesteal (Darkins taught blood magic)? It's a stretch but this is what I've kinda pieced together.

The Shadow Isles seems a little too physically close to Ionia and Shurima to be one of the 5 if the whole compass and centerpin theory shakes out.

You're definitely right that it would seem to be a good choice on where to seal a darkin.
