I was afraid this would happen after the Bilgewater event. I thought we were supposed to get Fiora's and some Shurima bios. Can we not go back to the old ways?

Sorry I've been quiet, we're currently working on a bunch of stuff alongside Champ, ChampUp and so on to get content to you. I can't go into detail right now, but I'll say we've put back some of the Shurima bios for now to concentrate on Shadow Isles. I can't really go into more than that at this point.

My apologies for the delay on Shurima related content, but the team that we've put together to work on champion introductions is very focused on delivering quality content to you in a format such as you saw with the main players in the Bilgewater: Burning Tides event. It's taking us a bit of time as we're working on a number of different things, including getting more story to you in addition to champion intros or champion launches in the months ahead.

Guess we can hope for that Shadow Isles stuff to poke around come Harrowing time! I know you guys gave the majority of Shadow Isles champions (barring Maokai, the unseen hero) short bios, so I guess you're working them in to the new bio style for this year. I'm just drawing conjecture here; if I'm off base feel free to set me straight.

Also I can't wait to see how screwed Bilgewater is this year considering how nasty last year's Harrowing was. (Insert maniacal laughter here)

Same here. Bilgewater basically falling into civil war with several people trying to take what was GP's crown.

I'd like to imagine that everyone in the Shadow Iles is wringing their hands, chuckling to themselves, while watching the chaos unfold.

I wouldn't be surprised if an SI character actually ends up becoming the King of Bilgewater.

When Jareden made his statement that new lore was coming everyone thought it was gonna come out on a more constant basis. You can't really blame people for getting impatient. With the Bildgewater event being the first lore we had in months.

On a more serious note, as many of your know, I'm not on the Narrative team, but I do care a lot about the lore and the players. I just don't have any way to help on this side of things right now.

For what it's worth, I did write the Tahm Kench 'notes' on the recipe cards and I got those approved by Tahm Kench's writer as appropriate for his speaking style. I know it's not really much at all - but scraps are all I can contribute right now. Sorry. :(

I can try to hit up Jaredan and see where he and the gang are at right now, but it'll be up to him (and maybe above his head) whether or not he can surface it right now.

Thank you! I'm actually an old (oooold) hand at this game-development shenanigans - been a level designer for comfortably over a decade now, and I've been at Riot for around a year and a half. Happy I've been able to be some use in that time, even if I'm not the best person for the task.

The Good: You are all SUPER passionate over here, and think through not only factual elements, but the underlying themes and meanings much deeper than I think many other places might give you lot credit for. I lurk like crazy, and so I do read some of the longer, more in depth, analysis posts that pop up. As for the lore, it goes deeeeep here. A game with this much history means I'm learning new stuff about it all the time - which is both great because learning new stuff is brilliant, and terrifying, because if I put my foot in it through ignorance, I know you guys will set me straight ;D

The Bad: The players have been burnt by some bad experiences with how the story has been handled in many ways - and their reactions are for the most part totally human and understandable. Not being able to fix that is super frustrating to me. On the lore specifically, it's a big bag of mad in many ways - which is great and terrifying! Some parts I can hardly believe is a real part of the game - but there are always some players who LOVE every element, so I need to remember to respect the parts that I think are too weird to exist :)

The Weird: Ah, wait. I think I just talked about that in the bad bit. Huh. Well, there's enough weird to go round! It's weird that Riot talks to players as much as it does (I came from a studio where you'd go internet dark for 5 years, on pain of being fired). It's weird that they don't talk more! It's weird that lore goes through so many rounds of approval and stakeholder review. It's weird that there aren't more ways to make the boundary between official lore and player-lore more porous (I think about that a lot). I'm kind of weird too. It's weird that I like being weird.

I don't want to be too hard on y'all as I liked the bilgewater event for the most part, but then again I'm not happy you guys axed the League in the lore, but then again what y'all are doing for the new champs is a lot more than you did for the old champs, but then again...

I think you're awesome for actually replying to lore related threads Bioluminescence...

The problem is that you frequently are responding to threads that you don't know much about which would be better answered by other Rioters in the know, who unfortunately don't care enough to actually respond to these threads.

Thus, the playerbase receives nothing but non-answers and apologies.

As much as I like and appreciate you, it would be awesome if we could have a Rioter with answers actually respond to threads related to their department!

Players have been forced to interact with the Narrative department through third parties for a bit too long, don't you agree?

It's only once a year, just like i said last year when Narrative couldn't figure out why they cant satify the fans. Now I sure i lost interest in the lore. Because sooner or later I might just stopp playing the game. I only started because of the lore anyway...
