The whole situation is unfortunate regardless. Even with the nice face shopped on to the new model, if I didn't know better, I would assume that the one on the left is the "new" model.

Well, as the guy on the reddit said they could just port Headmistress' VU'd hair to all her other skins.

Seriously, when I read all those excuses like "editing hair now would most likely fuck UV and shit" is disgusting.

I've been into TES and Fallout 3+ modding for like 10 years now and I've never ever heard such bullshit of an excuse. Especially since they already have a matrix in the form of, mentioned before, Headmistress Fiora.

But I bet it's just as hard as creating Chromas - for anybody with any knowledge of using even fucken MSpaint, it's 5 minutes of work. For them it's worth 300+ RP and months of lying to the community.

It is quite a peculiar situation because changing skins around in other games is not a difficult process most of the time. Heck, making 3rd party custom skins for League is not too difficult of a process. That said, I think the art team has to go through a different set of hurdles and loopholes than most of us believe. It could be considerably possible that the current system and engine is making it more difficult to put in a lot of the simpler, less complicated content.

On top of that, a lot of us art folk have a particular direction we want to go with something and can get really blindsided by the conventionality or faithfulness of that direction to the original. In some cases, it's fine and necessary (Nasus, Twitch), but I believe the art team had a very particular focus on their direction and did not believe it necessary to remain faithful to the original details. Her face resembles Fiora's, but it simply is not her. I can tell it's her, but I could easily see her as someone else or as a trope of her character.

Well, even if there are quirks that inhibit them from working:

They should tell us about them - editing UV isn't a viable excuse, mind you.
They aren't as huge as they are making them to be - since within one working day they could modify something that they said is too hard and/or tiresome to do.

I agree on the direction, they just went too blindly with their own idea and failed to deliver - not like it's uncommon for most Rioters.

Communication between Riot and the community is a battle in its own right. Keep in mind though, there have been many times where Riot has stated "We don't have that technology" for a number of things. On top of that, it's not good when teams and departments fight over stuff, so you can imagine some difficulties involved with outright telling the community "This asset in the game is subpar and is why things aren't working as smoothly" because then it's almost pointing fingers.
Remember that Rioters have their respective agendas and things to do. When the community backlashes and absolutely demands changes, that means said Rioters have to delay the next content they were going to work on to fix those changes. In some situations, that's probably business as usual. However, gauging Parrot Man's reaction, this time is one of those situations where they had a lot of other stuff to do and going back just to fix this for them is going to step on a lot of toes. It probably means they'll have to work overtime, or double overtime, or even just have to do something that they are not passionate about doing. If an artist isn't driven to do something, it is really fucking hard to do it.

I'm not trying to make excuses for Riot (because excuses just piss people off), but I am trying to help everyone understand that these simple changes have deeper repercussions involved.

You see, and this is why I love how Digital Extremes handles things. They may fail to deliver, but they will take time if necessary, postpone an update by a week and fix things as soon as possible. No excuses.

Because they said that her current playstyle involved zero interaction with her own team. Riot considers splitpushing a selfish playstyle, and most splitpushers don't do it because they are particularly good at it, but because their kit is such that it punishes them for teamfighting. This is especially true with Fiora, since she is technically one of the worse splitpushers because she has zero innate waveclear and no escapes, but splitpushes anyway.

Everyone in the loop knew that a gameplay rework was on its way. And on paper it looks pretty decent (the ult seems to be the only thing people disagree with).

The VU, on the other hand, is completely out of left field, makes no sense, and just about everyone hates it.
