Honestly, I think he either had this weight before but the clothing made him look skinnier or the loss of a shirt and him sticking his chest out makes him look fat. Looking at his in-game model from different positions, one makes him seem skinnier when he stands straight. I honestly don't think it fits GP to even have weight (even from all his oranges). He's now got to fight back for all he lost. I also felt that this "new" look fit better than the first. He was suppose to be a pirate from a hard background, since when did GP ever seem to be "relax". I like this newer one better but he could use a six pack just for show.

I think it's much better and more realistic for GP to be a little over weight instead of the steroid infused body builder or super model figure all male characters seem to have in American games and comics.

Why should Gang Plank look like that? It doesn't make him appear any more menacing or detract anything from his character. "a six pack just for show" Jesus I can't believe a lot of people have this sentiment, It's like saying Jinx should have bigger breasts just for show.

I'm actually very upset by these changes. I dont even play gangplank and i find his paunch even more offensive than Gragas .

Gragas' entire persona is a rowdy alcoholic. Gangplank is a damn pirate captain and a scourge of the seas. so why the hell does he have a Beer belly, no shirt, and a beard like he's some decadent Shiek sitting on 9 wives and nothing to do with his spare time.

I like Gragas and thats a main part of his personality, he honestly doesnt give a fuck about anything unless its drinking, (and being silly yet hilarious at the same time) I enjoy it.

Personally, it makes sense, I like to believe that this isnt "immediately the day after the death of GP" and its a while after, as he probably let himself go after the incident as he has no crew to look intimidating for, also its possible that his clothes made him look a tad more skinny than he actually was.

Well, it makes sense that he would have gained at least some weight. Take a look at a real life example, Mark Hamill. Played Luke Skywalker in one of the most widely popular and revered series of all time. But he got in a real bad car accident if I remember, and he had to spend a while recovering. He got facial reconstruction surgery as well, but I'm pretty damn sure Gangplank didn't. But the whole fact I'm trying to get across is, even if Gangplank was active while he recovered, it would make sense that he would need to spend a lot of time resting up. And consistent resting would probably make him gain weight. And gained weight is kind of difficult to get rid of, especially if you couple it with a large amount of muscle. (Like he has.)

This is kind of weird. I really like the skin overall but I do hope they make him a little more defined.

Whoever designed his new base skin was definitely a fan of Skies of Arcadia.

Plot Twist: the oranges that keep Gangplank healthy are actually chocolate oranges and he had to eat hundreds of them to recover from the explosion. That's a lot empty calories...

Also, given that in this he has a metal arm, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the new GP is the GP that comes into existence after the event, possibly a few years. We don't know yet, so there'll probably be something that'll cover it. I just think it makes sense that he wouldn't immediately show up again, he just lost all his crew and MF is still strong, he would probably go into hiding for a while.

Kind of bothering me too. His face looks pretty different (and not from scars) and he instantaneously put on like 30 pounds of body fat in his midsection. Kind of strange.
