Anyone notice the Void is kinda weak?

I've just been pondering on something that was commented on a different post I made shameless plug here.

Namely that Voidmonsters are mainly canon fodder to the heroes in the League of Legends lore and that made me think. The Void is surprisingly weak in the world of league of Legends despite being it's main threat.

Now ignoring some actually powerful voidcreatures like Kha'Zix who is actually the only one of his kind and Vel'Koz who can reduce most matter to nothing but information. Nearly all Voidcreatures in the lore are surpsingly weak, to the point that some smaller creatures like the one that Kai'sa encountered as a little girl can be killed with as little as an arrowhead. And we know of multiple factions that each have their own measurements against the void, ranging from the Tideallers with their Moonstone, The Darkhin and Ascended straight up just cutting them down, Aurelion Sol with his fire, The Iceborn using True Ice, Diana with her lunar magic and even plain ass Shuriman folk using Salt to starve the rift and stop it's growth.

There are so many ways to stop the void's advance by this point its almost impressive that it can advance at all.

You are confusing the Void itself and voidborns. They are not even comparable. Voidborns are nothing compare to the real horror of the Void. The Void is the greatest force in whole Runeterra setting, It is a power that consumes everything in its path. A power that made Setaka, the leader of the Ascended, look hopeless and weak. The Vulture Ascended was beyond salvation when it barely touched him. Aurelion Sol, one of the greatest beings in the entire universe, was so sickened by the presence of the Void, he was thrilled. When even the gods of Runeterra are nothing before the unspeakable nothingness, word of weak is an insult. And then we have the Watchers that even one of them's freedom would be apocalyptic for Runeterra... Voidborns are just mere pawns of the Watchers, they are precursors of the oblivion.

What is scary is, we are not even close to full might of it. And let's be honest, we will never be. Writers will not make the real Void unsealed beyond Runeterra can take it. It is the fundamental of storytelling. It is for narrative purposes. They will not kill their setting they have been working for years. And it is completely okay. It is more rewarding to choose the path of uniqueness of not ending what you have created. Death is not the only way to make a shocking arc, there are countless possibilities. You can defeat a threat without killing it. You can defeat the Void without making it look impotent.

Honestly the fact that voidcreatures come in all sizes and power levels isn't really anything new. I mean did you really think that Malzahars voidlings would be terryfying threats on their own?

The big void creatures are dangerous, but the small ones are merely cannon fodder, thats honestly something you should have expected. And honestly just look at the universe page and you'll see that some gargantuan void beings exist(or at least existed), there are voidborns who tower over elephants.

Well, the void mostly fights as a swarm. They have tons of smaller creatures to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers. They are a zerg.

That doesn't make them necessarily weak. There are exceptional voidlings among them and we will most likely see more of them in the future. But flooding the battlefield with small creatures is also a valid strategy to fight.

It's not a threat, not in a way it used to be, not since Kai'sa's release. While the Watcher's do want to end life because they don't understand it (in the end creating life to do that, irony). What went from this strange force that changes corrupts and destroys to something you can live around for most your life and be fine. Even the Universe page has a bit of text that states that if there is no magic or organic matter to feed on it's force stops/goes stagnant, some threat that just stops if you aren't near it.

Kinda different to the idea that Pantheon had to summon a massive space dragon from across the stars to obliterate a rift opening.

Although Malphite's new story did give a nice tidbit on how the Void is spreading unknown throughout Runeterra below ground.

Same as Darkin War though, went from massive outside threat of warring civilization of untold amount of unstoppable demon like beings to about 13-15 nutjobs fighting because they lost their leader, now with a few trapped in weapons being basically walking corpses.
