I have the strangest feeling that, all this talk about "PROJECT: VI should have pink VFX, not orange!" comes from some fanart of PROJECT: VI where her visuals are pink and not orange.
Whether or not that's the case, there's still other issues with the argument.
- Firstly, Orange is an extremely "aggressive" color, which IMO fits VI much more than pink, since. Y'know. PUNCH EVERYTHING.
- On top of that, like Beyond Legends mentioned, Demon VI already has pink VFX, and, while there isn't a huge problem in having 2~ skins with similar color schemes, the goal of skins for Champions is to make something different and unique.
- There also isn't really a whole lot about VI that screams "pink" other than her default hair color, where she has it dyed pink. So, saying one color fits VI more than another, especially in this sense, feels really weird and not really well thought-out.
On the other hand, there are also some other arguments over the whole pink/orange thing, one that I just wanted to pick out was overlap with other PROJECT: skins.
Some argued that they can't do pink on VI because that color is already used with Fiora, and that orange is really the only color they can work with. However, to those people (if they haven't already thought about this anyway), I'd like to point out that PROJECT: Yi is light ambers, and PROJECT: Yasuo was orange first, and we also have PROJECT: Lucian with orange color schemes.
And, in a similar vein, we have the same color overlap with PROJECT: Zed and PROJECT: Jhin - both being dark reds.
So, while I can understand some points about PROJECT: VI's colors overlapping with other PROJECT: skins, I just wanted to get that out there that there's already plenty of overlap, so I don't really think there's a God-given rule about colors.
So, yeah. I can see the arguments, but frankly, I like orange for VI, and I'm 90% sure the design is locked at this point, so those who don't like it may just have to grin and bear it.
