I understand why riot made star guardian ahri

I'm fine with it existing, and I think SGA was an easily justifiable skin so I don't blame riot for doing it, to be clear I want more Ahri skins to be made, I just wish they did a little bit of a better job with it.

My main critiques of the skin are as follows:

1. I don't like the particular outfit they did. It works as a star guardian, but I'm not sure it works with Ahri. The easiest explanation I can come up with for this particular take on it is probably a little too close to some of her other skins. This is a very Ahri paid skin, so the fact that it is reminiscent of her other skins is both good and bad. I think the sleeves and leggins are fine, tail colors, I've got no complaint about her skirt either, her hair/ear design is okayish, but that top just doesn't work. I probably would have gone with something closer to SGLux for the top.

2. The VO. Listening to her voice lines really turned me off. Someone on the boards said they'd sound better with academy ahri and I think that observation is correct. The lines are just too academy and not enough star guardian. Syndra or Soraka would have been better choices for new voice lines, syndra because it would have given players a different take on her, soraka because well she's so star related as is you could have cranked that aspect of her up to 11.

3. I really don't like this as a legendary skin option. I feel like riot would have been better off if they kept the scope of the changes to 1350. The voice lines are a fail (writer's fault, not the actress) and I think it would have been an easier sell if her new particles were kept to the 1350 level. The critter in the ball makes it harder to justify getting the skin given the bad VO and questionable visual design. It just doesn't seem worth at this pricing level. Of all the things riot could have done for a legendary Ahri skin, SGAhri wasn't even on my list of concepts that would have been cool. She's probably not getting another legendary skin and it feels like riot wasted the opportunity.

I'd give the skin a 4/10: fair. With the bad voice lines and the questionable visual design I think this skin line is just a notch below average when compared to the other legendary skins. If this were a 1350 skin without VO, I'd have given it a 5/10 but wouldn't have been thrilled with it as it'd still need a better visual design. The writers and concept artist failed riot/ahri on this one and the guy who pushed for it to be a legendary skin didn't help matters.
