As some may know, Ashe will recieve a VO Update, within this update she talks more about her lore and her people. We hear her talk about the Heartbound from her comic, the Iceborn like her, her mother and her bloodsister, Spiritwalkers like Udyr but one stood out to me. While I expected the last faction to the frostpriest, Ashe instead mentions the Fireborn when going through her list of her Kin within the Freljord.

So my question now is who are the Fireborn and what earns them their title as from what I know thus far I haven't seen them in the lore yet? Are they possibly related to Brand who used to be a Freljordians? And does that possibly link Pyromancy and champions such as Annie back to the Freljord as it's roots of origin?

I'm curious what will come from this so let me know what your theories are.

Perhaps related to Ornn in some way, would be my first assumption.

I remember seeing the word "Fireborn" in a thread some time ago. I managed to find it again, but I'm not sure what is canon and what is speculation. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/9ejcikoq-theory-on-who-are-icebornstormborn-and-hearthborn-in-the-freljord

In Ornns color story it describes how some warriors receive new energy from Ornns flames, causing their fighting spirit to rise again and making them immune to the cold, so I suppose those are the fireborn.

Iceborn - Blessed by The Watchers

Stormborn - Blessed by Volibear (prolly what Olaf is gonna turn out to be come his VGU)

Fireborn - Blessed by Ornn...maybe. This may be a bit headcannonish but Kegan Rhode could have been "Fireborn" he had the heated disposition for it and could use fire magic from birth, that may be why when he absorbed the World Rune his body "manifested" that inner fire in his appearance, I only believe this because Zyra was created in much the same way (Runic explosion) yet she took the form of a flower lady and not an on fire man. Because the Runes are celestial in nature AND the celestial realm is dominated by the idea of "what could be" compared to the material realms' static nature and the Void lack of a nature. Than it isn't an illogical leap to say that Runic magic when consumed can transform people using what they already are as a template.

So for example if you feed a World Rune to Syndra she could mutate into a gravity well creature or something, point is it would be different than what Brand and Zyra are.

Now that I think about it, Annie's mother was a witch that Annies' father met when he moved from Noxus closer to the Freljordian border so Annies' mom could have been a Fireborn Freljordian too?

At least this is the simplest way to look at all this Freljordian ancestry stuff. Though I don't like how Anivia gets kinda her niche stolen by The Void. Would be cool if Iceborn thought their abilities come from Anivia, but of course are wrong because of Lissandra hiding history.
