I'm conflicted because I love LoL's art and sound design, but can't bring myself to ever respect it

In my other hobbies, I love compiling music and art galleries from various mediums I am a part of to immortalize them in my own way. Considering how long I've been with LoL, it would be obvious I would do the same but I can't.

I spend a lot of my time, nevertheless, listening to new login music fully when they arrive and cinematics Riot drops. Moreso than a crapton of people that play.

It's mainly I've been around so long and came to realize Riot is run by morally dubious (being nice), arrogant corporate suits that don't give a shit for their consumers, only the money and, knowing they have all the money now, feel free to abuse or neglect them as they see fit. Seriously, at nicest I compare Riot and its founder to Cliffy B and Epic Games as someone who played Gears of War and some of their other products a lot a long time ago. That's not a compliment by the way if you know Cliff and how he is.

I know there's a saying bad people can make nice things like Phil Fish and Fez but it's complicated with LoL.

Even if you think that the top dogs of Riot are greedy corporate suits (which they aren't), you can still find out the original artists who created the artwork and such. Commemorate it to them, not Riot as a whole, if you think that Riot is full of despicable Scrooges who laugh at how much they're ripping off the playerbase.

(IMO, though, while many Rioters may be blunt, brash, and have gone back on their word more times than I can count, they're generally reasonable human beings.)

It’s not that bad, there are far worst out there, and this game isn’t anywhere as bad as anything Cliffy B touches.

It's still pretty horrific though. This company repeatedly makes you feel conflicted by showing they're like a full-fledged, high quality animation studio behind the scenes with the cinematics and everything else, but then you see how they act so hostile, immature, and rude on social media if they're not blatantly disrespecting the state of the actual game itself.

The game balancing part is complicated and long-winded.

As for social media, this company doesn't mind arguing or using or condoning profanity as long as it's not racist or homophobic. They don't mind saying "fuck off" among other things or engaging with someone that says fuck every other sentence.

That's what really gets me. It's like how Cliffy B will talk to you, no matter who you are, in a completely unprofessional manner. He'll call you a %%%%, bitch, something something f------t if you agitate him or even on a friendly level really.

Yes, sure but dont blame the ones that dont work in the video game for the things that the ones that work in the videogame do. You can love the art and sound design without respecting the ones that do the balance, because they arent the same people.

How? The people who do narrative and art and the people who do the balance and manage the company are not the same people. Riot has 5,000+ employees, and you can't hold the collective accountable for the actions of one person (like the guy who called Tyler1 a homunculus).

Oh, I almost forgot that guy too.

Speaking of which, if you idle on Discord channels where Rioters idle you will see they are very unprofessional or crass in their downtime.

Profane doesn't equal immoral, and assuming they aren't speaking for the company, and assuming that the Discord allows profanity, then it's no big deal, really. I know a lot of people who are crass and unprofessional in their downtime, to be fair. They don't have to be professional unless they're on the job or speaking for the company.

I was talking about where a Rioter actually said those profane things on the job and didn't get punished for it. Also, so what if Tryndamere has a short temper? He hardly ever communicates with the playerbase directly anyway. He's also just one person.

well, they find hashinshin and tyler1 (for now) good for publicity, going as far as to have a private talk with the former when he finally lost his dull chill. These people are notorious for being assholes by the way.

And a long while ago during her inception, when Taliyah was excessively criticized for being too ugly (and she is face it), a Rioter said League of Legends "isn't just a game anymore and if you don't like diversity, you can fuck off"

So if someone threatened you, insulted your significant other, did their best to derail your work only in a means to piss you off and cause strife, you aren’t supposed to be upset?

You made it seem like he was just raw insulting anyone against the design, but these people he is referring to are just going out of their way to be assholes, doesn’t seem like something to get up in arms about.

Follow in my footsteps, Riot will listen if we get enough people to leave!!!

Riot isn't listening to us, Riot has shown they don't WANT to listen to us, and Riot will continue not listening to us.

The only way we can fix league is to make Riot want their playerbase back, and this in turn means we must leave league!!

Please, I ask you to leave league with me so that we might reach an actual balanced game once Riot realizes that they are losing players!!!
