Anyone else feels like the more champions have a thematic skin the value of the theme lowers?

Like at first Star guardian lux was the shit! but then the others came and it was like okay it's a lot less special now but it's still a cool theme right? but now it's just crowded. Starguardian, dark star, project, bloodmoon, pool party, and arcade theme don't need yearly releases i feel. I mean I picked up yoric in the recent months and i really enjoy the champion. I was glad to hear he wasn't getting the Arcade skin i rather wait longer and get something more deserving than have the champion me thrown into the genetic press.

Nope. It wouldn't be a theme if that were the case cause themes apply to a bunch of things and if the bunch of things go with the theme the theme doesn't lose themelyness.

I think arcade and pool party are general themes that everyone likes. They are not nearly as niche as the others and could use yearly skins.

I think you are right, but only to an extent. I feel that having a skin line is intrinsically more exciting than one-offs, but only with a strong thematic and story. I think the best example of this is the Dark Star line. It has an excellent and very different aesthetic, and hints at a greater story, adding to the alternative fantasy that the skin brings. Further, I think it was amplified when they added Dark Star Orianna and Kha'Zix. Similarly, its rival Cosmic line was expanded with the lovebirds, the identity of the skin line as a whole was stronger for it.

That being said, I think the added value (marginal returns) of each skin does get lower with each new addition. I feel this reduction is even larger for every addition outside a complete five-man team. Maybe I'm just really into complete sets.
