We had our own share of sexy women. Why can't women have their own share of sexy men?

I don't understand the bickering about making later male champs long haired and handsome. It's no secret that Riot had some sexist approach with all early female champions looking sexy, pretty and/or scantily dressed. (Katarina , MissFortune , Akali , Sona Janna , Nidalee , etc...) Basically, to appeal to their early demographic of young males like myself. But now that the playerbase is more diverse, why can't women enjoy their pretty and sexy guys too, with all new champions than seem to go out this way, and in some reworks? (Rakan , Kayn , Taric , Swain in the upcoming VGU, if the women in question are interested in the "most interesting man in the world" vibe.)

Because I think the fight for equality it's not covering scantily dressed and sexy characters. I think it is in giving women also the chance of enjoying their eyes with sexy guys too.

If you're going to pick a Champ to update for the female gaze, why pick the already established old man character with a limp and a sketchy background?

Also, eye candy for straight women isn't just Fabio levels of long hair and shirtlessness. I think more indulgent female fantasies tend to have more clothed rich gentlemen than shirtless guys. Not that THAT doesn't happen either, but it's not like male fantasy where they tend to prefer skantily clothed girls. (Making generalizations here, but I think this based in some truth).

What about Varus?

I’d say most champions in league, bar the obviously ugly ones (urgot), or the really unique ones, like Ryze, most characters, male or female, are design with a specific archetype or aesthetic in mind, and are quite charming.

Besides, almost all the men in league has huge pecs and abs.

At the end of the day, we do have a large player base, but I’d wager a good majority of players are males. Can’t blame riot for prioritising their largest consumer base.

Sure, we don't know what he looks like, but the voice is good enough for me.

What is the point of this post exactly?

ChompyWulf1/25/2018, 9:54:52 PM3 votes

It's not equality, but a double standard now. Riot has made a point with more recent new female champs to avoid fan service and diversify them, make them strong individuals without shameless trash like the old Zyra booty teaser.

But they'll go back and turn established male characters into fantasy pinup art for women.

That's some serious bullshit.

Ifneth1/25/2018, 10:59:15 PM3 votes

I think we should limit fanservice to certain champions and skin lines. Give Kat a cloak, deflate Sona’s boobs, put Akali in a bodysuit, and tell Janna and Nidalee to put some clothes on. We could have some beautiful—and beautifully dressed—ladies. :)

The reason people are upset about the swain changes has nothing to do with keeping people who are attracted to men from having characters whos visuals they can enjoy.

It's because Swain was supposed to be this scarred, old, and maybe crippled man who rose to the top despite his apparent weaknesses. Making him appear charismatic and attractive and uncrippled just goes against what was relatable about the character for so many people.

Players who happen to be crippled related to Swain before because he used a cane. Now that's gone and they feel disenfranchised.

tldr; Riot should absolutely introduce more "pretty-boys" to league's roster, but they should do it with new characters rather than with reworked old characters.

In a video game the demand for sexy female characters is MUCH higher than demand for sexy male ones

If women nowadays find these feminized %%%s "gentlemen" more attractive than a masculine, rugged looking guy then we honestly fucked up hard somewhere throughout our evolution bruh

Don't be a soyboy. Riot literally makes champions for everyone.

Eh male fantasies are more physical, while female fantasies are more emotional.

A 14 year old guy wants a DD wife who will sleep with him all day. At 22 I'd still take it [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

A 14 year old girl wants a guy who is kind, handsome, adventurous, and has some kind of flaw for them to "fix". Older women tend to go more for the money because success looks good.

Going into a primitive psychological reasoning;

Guys like big breasts/butts/hips because it shows fertility and as an organism, our instinct is to reproduce.

Women would like someone who can do well in that society/terrain, (So for cavemen it would be big muscles and hunting, while in modern times it's money) because their instinct is to find someone to keep them safe while they carry the baby for the 7-8 months of taking it easy, and then help them for the next 20 years of raising the child.

TL;DR shirtless chizzled men aren't as attractive to women as a shirtless busty women are to men.

I mean not if he looked like dooku, but if he had the haircut (maybe the beard)

NekoniClaws1/26/2018, 4:19:02 PM1 votes

He doesn't look diseased now. I guess if that's how we define attractive?

[sg-lulu]

I mean. Girls are into long hair. Girls are into short hair. And man, Lee Sin has no hair and he is a HUNK. Heck I'm even more than a little into Thresh...

Swain was redesigned to appear more powerful- as a formidable and eloquent leader. Just so happens- that's also attractive. Hair be damned.

But yes- equal equality. I'm just not atall convinced sexual attractiveness had much weight in the design.

Braum Ezreal Graves Jayce Kayn Rakan Taric Taric Taric Varus

These are all champions ( with taric being counted 3 times because he deserved ) that somehow had ingrained into them the idea to be "charming". Remember that there are lots of other champions that have naked torso with big pecs, full beard and massive crotch or have some other traits that i could interprete as "charming", but i did not count them simply because the character itself did not pose to be "charming". After all, everyone has its own taste, and i might be biased since i am a hetero male.

Love me some RekSai tho

EDIT: also, see traditional trundle splash art. nuff said.
