Stop making the True Ice melt in every Freljord story

Lissandra - Biography - Universe of League of Legends

First was Ornn . Now is the corrupting power of the Void. I get it. These are enormous and ancient powers, so it may take a power as great to accomplish melting the unmeltable. But is like adamantium, and Captain America's shield: once someone achieves breaking it, another story will appear doing it, and another, and another.

So, please. Reasure as the the ice that supossedly never melts, never melts, because if not, then it loses all of it's mysticism.

Now is the corrupting power of the Void.

Ughh... The way you described it like it is a normal thing. We are talking about unknowable nothingness that consumes everything. Nothing stands against the Void. Do you think magical ice is an exception when even celestial beings aren't?

What they need is more stories where people try to melt true ice and fail.

The impact of it not melting is mitigated when every story that has true ice shows it melting, I agree, but the answer isn't the throw those out, it's to flesh out the rest of the world.

OP doesnt the void lose it´s potency if we do it like that?

The great hungering and absolutely corrupting absence that went sentient out of sheer anger that it suddenly realized that something beyond itself existed.

It manifested itself terrible monstrosities capable of killing gods, demigods and ascended left and right, the strongest of them, the watchers, can even make Aurelion raise his guard in acknowledgement of their power.

You´re telling me that this existence abhorring entities whose very goal is the eradication of everything to ensure there is nothing but complete void again cant corrode some magic ice?

Actually its a bleeding wonder that glacier has been holding up tens of thousands of years against them, borderline miracle even to the point where they look kinda bad.

It makes logical sense for Ornn to straight-up melt it. I think that the Void is corrupting it into Black Ice and then destroying it, because Black Ice is supposedly more fragile.

I hope they don't let anything else break it.

The lore only exists to sell toys. You bought the champions who use true ice, now buy the new champions who can melt true ice!

True ice is demonstrated as powerful as heck. So far we have like... 3 beings confirmed to be able to damage it out of the entire cast: watchers, ornn with the superheated volcano belly he has, and gnar. Gnars lore is dated and literally has him fighting a watcher 1v1 so he was low-key super strong and idk if that feat is at all relevant since the great retconning.

True ice weapons are powerful, as shown by them being able to cut through a void boy effortlessly whereas a superhuman blow with an ice pick just glanced off, but they are still just tools. They're the natural choice when faced with tremendous cosmic forces due to how superior true ice as a material is but you can't expect it to hold up completely.

Hell, consider that true ice has kept massive world eating monstrosities contained for centuries dude. Nothing else has that potential. It even holds void juice so well you can wear the dark ice around your neck and not have the void inside eat your innards and spew out a monster.

True Ice is the malfurion of this game.

Don’t you think you’re being the slightest bit overdramatic? There are literally two stories where true ice melts, and that’s in the face of entities with literally godlike abilities.

They had to nerf true ice, it was too good.

True Ice is like Marvel's Adamantium, it's unbreakable unless the plot needs it to be.

The Worf Effect.

it's because vel'koz did true damage to the ice, for 10000 years he's been acting like a noob and keeps on backing off to let his passive expire whenever he hits two abilities.

Ornn is OP with his true-fire

Adamantium & true Ice are like toys to these beings. The watchers are like outer gods in this world pretty much.

I think the TL;DR is that only beings that existed before True Ice was even made can reasonably destroy it because they are that powerful. So, therefore, the only beings that can destroy it are likely:

  • AurelionSol
  • Ornn
  • Volibear
  • Anivia
  • The Watchers and the Void that spawns directly from them
  • Likely the most powerful of the Aspects at Targon
  • Possibly the most powerful of the Ascended in Shurima since they draw power from the Aspects at Targon

Under normal circumstances, it never melts. That's the magic of it. Not being completely impervious to the flames of a God or other such powerful magic.
