PLEASE stop trying to lead us on with story threads from 2013. We know these as basic fact. We get it. This constant coy "oooOOOooo maybe they're reLAAAAted!?" thing is tiring me out. There is nothing new being explored here and the jokes/"subtle hints" are growing stale.

Actually show me some change, progression or something else that I don't know about because right now I'm up to my fucking ears in implied connections I've seen since the game looked like a PS1 game.

And now they can't really drop any of those plot points in Big Reveals because they've been sitting on them for too long. Everybody already knows, so Kass being like "No, I AM your father" to Kai'Sa is going to get zero audience reaction.

Yeah Riot, we all know that Beatrice/Demon of Secrets is a future version of Qiyana who was sent back to the past by Prime timeline Zilean in order to counteract the destruction of the world. In the new Kelvin timeline, the Demon of Secrets allows Swain to know of the dangers of the world and, in turn, BARELY tip the world of humanity into a winning position so Noxus can lead the final blow to the world-ending powers at force in the world and rule with an iron fist over the entire planet of Runeterra.

It was all but confirmed with Qiyana's voice line "The secrets of my enemies carry far on the wind." Quit teasing Riot.

The un-continued story threads is one of Riot's biggest sins with its lore. I remember there was a red post saying they knew how the War of Three Sisters was going to end a few years ago and the War of Three Sisters started in 2013...

The lack of progression is infuriating. We have a MONTHLY comic series for Lux ongoing right now... meanwhile 140+ other champs get fuckall while the Lux comic is ongoing. It's baffling to me just how barebones League's lore after the Great Retcon 6 years later and their release rate of new lore content is slow as hell.

I don't know what Riot has planned in their concept boards and drawing rooms but what they've produced so far is honestly not sufficient for the scale of the game, and the story. Oneshot color stories where nameless redshirts and nobody secondary characters die or get their come-uppance is not satisfactory. They have over 140+ champions and Jinx, who is one of their flagship champs in terms of skins, has 1 oneshot comic and 1 music video on top of some color stories. And it's sad to know she'd probably be considered a champ who has above average lore dedicated to her compared to other champs.

the references would be ok if riot made news stories expanding and explaining them but no. the lol universe is frozen in time forever.

It's about time Riot started progressing with the lore....

I think it is safe to say we have more than enough backstory on the lore. I want to see champions crossing paths, the politics progressing, even people dying.

As cool as it is to drop lore bombs relating to the past, those bombs only last so long until it really doesn't matter.

The big one for me is Garen x Kat. That... thing has always felt forced to me. They have zero chemistry. I get that the whole "enemies to lovers" thing is a common fiction trope, but they seriously have like zero unique interaction. IIRC, they've never even had any in the lore. Okay, so they're rivals of opposite gender on different sides of a conflict. Great. So are Jarvan and LeBlanc. So are Karma and Swain. So are Galio and Cassiopeia. I see no one calling for any of those pairings.

WHERE IS THE GALIOPEIA LOVE?!
