Galio rework then a new champion?

I believe I read that we are getting the Galio rework and won't be getting a new champion until after that? Normally champions are released between 2-4 months after the last one, so does that mean we won't be getting a new champion for a long while?

They said they wanted to use the gap they decided on to get some smaller updates done on champions that need it (Rek'sai, A. Sol, etc.). Most notably they need the particle effects and modeling/art people for any new/changed abilities that they make. Those people would normally be booked working on the new champ.

Also, worth noting that the unusual gap is happening due to some "unexpected issues" (Ghostcrawler said, on the latest Monthly Live Q&A on Twitch, that it has to do with voiceover issues- I'd imagine it's related to some very technical issues- something along the lines of contracting delays with the Voice Actors agency that they've been working with for a few years now.)

No, he said that in the past it has been due to unexpected issues not this time specifically >.<"

Edit: they also have some planned stuff with expanding champs' voiceovers that aren't getting updates any time soon you're right about that bit.

Yup they confirmed that the next new champ will come out a bit later than usual. However they also said that we'll likely see more champs than usual in the later half of the year.
