The Jhin connection people seem to ignore.

So this is Jhin, supposedly. Now, unlike some of you guys, when I saw his outfit I didn't think Fiora. It seems Demacian, sure, but....

Note the ornate armor. The angular designs. The sharpness of the outfit.

"But it doesn't look that close. There's not enough to-" Now consider Jhin's weapons. In the virtuoso teaser, Jhin was using guns...but not ordinary guns. Magical guns with elemental and powerful properties. Weapons far more smooth and refined than something Piltover or Zaun could produce. Now consider the text in Mind of the virtuoso:

I will make you beautiful. I will make you perfect.

What's Lucian's job? A purifier. THE purifier, or so we think. It's entirely possible Lucian comes from an order of warriors who combat the darkness. Of course, this is not without sacrifice. Lucian lost his wife.

Jhin, on the other hand, has been battling far longer. He's lost his arm and his visage from these wars. Slowly, over time, madness crept into him. It was subtle at first, balking at his fellow purifiers. Saying they were "too lenient" with the darkness. Only when Jhin committed his first mutilation of a fellow purifier was he expelled from the order.

But that's ok. They were wrong. They were flawed.

Jhin is a reborn purifier. The truest purifier in this world. He doesn't just attack undead, he deals with things that must be killed before they get out of hand. The shadow master had fallen to darkness, he must be killed. The maven killed her mother. That crime cannot go unpunished. The knight was blinded by his country, Jhin showed him the light. The enforcer lived a sinful life of debauchery, it was only right that she be reborn as something beautiful and noble.

TL;DR Theory is that Jhin is an ex-purifier from the same order as Lucian. Warring with darkness has made him unhinged and have an immensely strict view of what purity truly is. Such is why his armor is a tattered but ceremonial outfit and his weapon an ornate gun with magical properties.

well nobody knows where shaco came from. maybe this new champ also comes from where shaco came from since they both crazy mad killers*[slayer-pantheon-popcorn]*

I've become attached to the idea that his hunch is actually a second, deformed head that is the real brains and the one who talks in the cinematic and game, but the main face is mute.

That's why half of his body is draped and he wears a mask. So that no one can see which is talking. Being really vain, he wouldn't want anyone to see this condition. It plays into a theory some others have had that he is actually deformed and that is part of his reason to create his own twisted version of beauty.

I won't give this connection as a given expecially based on the elements you provided.

  • The dress/coat/whatever he wears look a lot like what a rich fellow in Piltover would wear rather then a Demacian suit
  • His gun is a total different thing compared to Lucian's, what the Gun Templar uses are not proper pistols but stones able to condense light into pulses strong enough to harm things, their shape is gun-like because they are comfortable to be wielded like this.
  • His "philosophy" (or better his catch phrase) doesn't resemble what a purifier would say but rather something you'd hear from a serial killer or any1 with a distorted vision of "beauty".

For me he is going to be a rogue Piltoverian who used to have an high status/wealth (or still has it) and could play the role of the "Peacemaker".

Problem with this connection is the fact that the leaked pic might not be his default skin. Because a lot of things seem different from the what we saw in the trailer especially the mask.

I don't think Jhin could be a purifier, especially since the identity of the purifiers seems strongly tied to their relic guns, which behave very differently than other weapons. On the other hand, Jhin's outift hints strongly at his Demacian origins. Not just that, two of his four teaser victims were connected to Demacia as well.

Was just thinking this. Too much pointing in this direction for it to not be some sort of connection. The clothing style being demacian, the similar guns, the "purifying" and possible cult/group Luc is a part of.

Other things that people have said:

He isn't walking at the mirror. the mirror is positioned well above him, which is given away by the gunsmoke in the lower right hand corner. He has killed someone (is that helmet bro?) but we can't see his face. He is on his way out.

Jhins gun and this weird shoulder piece kind of always remind me of Lucians guns.
