Wouldn't it make a lot more sense for him to be "The Raging Inferno" or "That One Guy Who's On Fire"?
I mean what does he have Vengeance against? The Watchers for locking him up?
His lore and his voice lines just show he wants everything to burn, not specific hate towards something.
Everything He's an extremely angry individual who wants to murder (or should I say "purify/cleanse") everyone and everything. He was likely locked up for this reason until a stupid viking let him out.
Are we sure that he is burning? It may be an illusion made by him in order to confuse us.
It is possible that Brand is mother natures vengance. Humans destroyed large parts of the land with their wars(the rune wars literally obliterated some land masses) and it is brands job to kill the current civilization,so that a new one can be born.
thats at least my interpretation,in the end it wouldn't surprise me if the name could be replaced once they update Brands lore.
