there has been some speculation as to if the new dragon champion will be a part of the mt targon event, I honestly hope he is not only because after looking into Greek dragons they have multiple heads and no wings and I think that would be such a let down for the first Dragon champion, what do you guys think?
MisterHealYoGirl1 votesIt's been essentially confirmed that Aurelion Sol has a long, sinuous body, more like a Chinese Long than Shyvana. (The issues that were holding the champion back were animating a long snaky body to move fluidly if it had to make rapid rotations, like when you switch directions).

Bultz2 votesFrom what I understood they had difficulty with the serpent body. They didn't say yes or no to it, but sort out sounded like it was scrapped. It can be found on one of the rioters posts called evolution of a dragon champion.

They said that they didn't work on the tech for a long body because ao shins kit didn't come together,that was one of the reasons why they decided to change the character. However they didn't say if they worked on the long body afterwards or not.

Neamean1 votesIt is because that they never said Aurelion Sol is a serpentine or not that I imagine that it would look like the Winged Dragon of Ra from yugioh because Sol mean sun.
All we know is that it would be a dragon we don't know what type/culture of dragon it is so i wouldn't eliminate the fact that it is more European than Asian. Also Shyvana technically is a Wyvern which can be argue that it isn't a dragon but since dragon is a fantasy creature anything they make can be called a dragon.

I think that a rioter mentioned during the ao shin early-preview that they chose a chinese dragon to differentiate him more from shyvana,so I guess he won't look that much like her.

Though I doubt that Aurelion will turn out like that.
