Shimmer One example of the denizens' love for freedom of expression is the unlawful synthesis of "Shimmer", a corrosive techmaturgical waste substance that is popular among Zaun's rebellious youth. When slathered onto the skin the Shimmer stimulates intense emotions in its subject. The Shimmer then creates an assortment of shining colors that corresponds to the emotion the subject is feeling. Though frequent application of the caustic glop can result in progressive degeneration of the skin and muscle tissue, a rumor that Shimmer can grant its wearer unnatural abilities has simply increased its demand.

This is a corrosive techmatugical waste. Similar to drugs IRL, but not drugs. So, does it look like Jinx have these symptoms from Simmer? Yes. "rumor that Shimmer can grant its wearer unnatural abilities has simply increased its demand." Hmm, she has no unnatural abilities.

Even still, Maybe this is the main catalyst of Jinx's personality

She always looked like a drug addict to me.

Super-Human powers isnt a very clear term either. It is possible Jinx's physical stats are generally enhanced, giving her a small degree of super-human abilites, similar to Captain America (But to a lesser extent). It could serve to explain her Passive a bit better, how she always manages to avoid capture and how she never seems to get tired. I doubt her inteligence alone would be enough to keep her so many steps ahead of Vi or Caitlyn.

Do we assume Diana does drugs too?

Diana is nowhere near as pale as Jinx though, and i doubt Diana enjoys staying under the sun for too long, which certanly would make her a bit more white.

Agreed. Considering how crazy she is now and the possibility she actually has powers that allow her prowess with guns, I think it's safe to say she is an addict. Perhaps she was a normal Zuanite until she got addicted and went after Vi.

As from champion drug abuse, Mundo certainly is one, I could see some champions having it as a flaw.

I don't think Jinx is addicted to Shimmer. If she were, she'd be changing colors. It's my honest belief that she looks the way she does simply because Zaun.

Think about it. Zaun supposedly doesn't get sunlight anymore because of all the toxins and pollutants in the air. She's wasted away. Her body didn't develop properly. Her breasts never filled, her hips are narrow implying a lack of pubecent development (in contrast to other female champions,) her face is gaunt, she's pale as a ghost and she's thin as a rail.

How hard do you honestly think it would be for a girl's sanity and health to suffer away in Zaun's dog-eat-dog society? Especially when you throw all those untraced, untracked, unregulated chemicals into the mix! The girl's completely bonkers and it's obvious just by looking at her she probably wasn't born that way. As for her get-excited, that speaks for itself. She gets over-excited, stops thinking - she can't resist the bloodshed, the loud noises, the weight of fishbone's kickback, the thrill of being in control and mowing living things down like targets at a carnival booth!! It's the best to her! There's nothing that can satisfy her cravings the way that adrenaline does! And... really? That's not abnormal. Regular people just satisfy it a different way, in everything from jogging to skydiving. Except she's Zaunite, so she's allowed to take a more direct approach.

So, in summary, she is addicted, but not to shimmer. Or food, for that matter. ez-pz.

Boram Darkwill was part of the old lore, but look at Sions new lore. Rapture Rum was part of the old lore, but look at Miss Fortunes new lore.

There are also couple of indications that old lore, if it fits the foundation stuff and isnt effected by the retcon in any way (mainly if its world building stuff and if its too good of a lore/plot idea to scrap), then its still canon.
