I know she is an old champion (game wise, not age wise) but I really think her lore could use some love.
As an Annie main I would love to read more about her character in-depth, the relationship between her and Tibbers. Her homeland. How she became a league champion, etc etc.
Eventually, yes, every champ with outdated/non-canon/non-modernized lore or lore entry will get a lore update.
None of the champions will become a "league champion" since the Institute of War has been removed.
Still, there are several things that could have happened that would still fit in how Lore works these days. She could have been picked up by any existing faction, or even a new faction that operates within Runeterra. She could be in the hands of the Black Rose or some unknown order within Demacia that seeks to overthrow the King. She could even be wandering the wilderness with Brand after he destroyed her clan that mistakenly summoned him.
