Can SG Syndra be cancelled or re-designed?

5 years after Syndra's release, another skin worse than her default one. Looking at her skin collection feels embarrassing as a Syndra main.

As a huge Syndra main I kind of feel left out in terms of skins, and I'm thankfully not the only Syndra main who feels that way.

I respect Riot's skin design team and they've made some incredible skins in the past years, but the ones they make for Syndra just don't click.

Not a single skin builds upon Syndra's theme and design, none, 0, absolutely nothing.

And that's what I hate so much about her, I don't mind getting a skin friendly-type skin like snowday Syndra. But the fact that ALL her skins are like snowday Syndra makes me really mad. Star Guardian doesn't fit Syndra's theme not even in the slightest, go watch the skin splotlight video and the comments are filled with her not fitting the theme at all. Syndra doesn't need a Star Guardian skin, she doesn't need a spiky dress, animal-like orbs, cute sounds and an eye patch.

SYNDRA THE DARK SOVEREIGN

Looking at her name and titel alone should give a good hint on what type of skins us Syndra mains actually want. Can you imagine the possibilities for a legendary Syndra skin? Skins that build upon her theme, her power and personality? They are limitless, but Riot always chooses the weakest themes for her.

I even remember back in early 2014 when I first started to play and main Syndra, I would imagine the kind of skins she could get in the up coming years. Boy was I wrong.

I just wish Syndra would get 1 skin she deserves, and not some silly dress-up cosplay theme everyone else already has.

EDIT: These downvotes shows that I'm one of the few actually, quite sad to see. I guess everyone else is willing to buy skins that could've been made for every other female character ever. Myself prefers quality and something being unique from others.

There is nothing wrong with liking the default champion.

Syndra has 1, now 2, lighthearted skins. Queen of Diamonds is just a different outfit, Atlantean is a sea witch, Justicar is a vengeful angel, and SKT is supposed to be an empress. Only Snow Day and Star Guardian are actually light-hearted.

1.Not everyone likes what you like. 2.Since when is an underwater being and queen of diamonds light-hearted? 3.God fist lee sin is lame af and so would be an evolution for Syndra instead of new themed effects,see? we have different opinions, there is no right or wrong when talking about what skins people like but you are indeed wrong if you think that any of the skins for any champion are supposed to follow the same theme as the base skin, skins are made to change what a champion is not change their looks a little bit and make that syndra Q a little bit more purple.

Atlantean Syndra could be a dastardly evil overlord. SKT Syndra is full of regal might. Queen of Diamonds might be very basic, but looks like a very evil sister to the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. And if you haven't been pummeled by snowballs loaded with ice, you wouldn't know how evil Snowday Syndra could be.

While I understand your sentiment, I think you're having trouble expressing it.

Skins are meant to be alternate fantasies, either a "what if" or otherwise a subversion or variation of their theme. They are also supposed to look cool. Not every skin is going to land with every single player, and that's ok. That's why Riot will always release more later.

Justicar - I think the Justicar theme is meant to be an extreme "light", as in, so dedicated to Justice that it's unhealthy. They punish wrong-doers without mercy. To me, this is a "what if...Syndra dedicated her ambitions to upholding justice?" Atlantean - This is a more visual theme, which means her base theme of ambitious, power hungry prodigy can still apply here. It's not my favorite skin but I've always liked water themes ok Snow Day - Definitely more light-hearted, meant more for festive appeal than anything else Queen of Diamonds - I think the "Queen" moniker is apt for Syndra. However, this entire skin line is pretty meh. No one got a good skin out of this. SKT T1 - more commemorative for Faker, and honestly the climb to win Worlds could be considered very Syndra-esque: she wants to push her potential to limits, not unlike Faker Star Guardian - I personally think they could have unlocked this skin's potential a lot more. Sure, the Star Guardian skin line is meant to evoke the Magical Girl genre, but a "Dark Magical Girl" is frequently a thing too. She could have been a "fallen" Star Guardian that turns into an antagonist for the other Guardians and becomes a villain in her own right. The skin is still cool, but if you aren't into the Magical Girl genre then it's kind of lost on you.

Sometimes skins just don't hit the mark for everyone, and if you aren't a fan of her skins, that's ok. Voice your concerns and express a preference for a different skin type in the future. I'm sorry nothing works for you, and I'm sure they will explore a theme you like eventually :)

Star Guardian is set in a parallel universe

think of any universe in League that a champion wouldn't fit in but still gets a skin from said universe, go on, think of one

They probably already have a ton of Star Guardian promotions & other things all lined up & ready (or soon to be ready) with the current SG Syndra design in mind. It would likely mess up a number things if SG Syndra was drastically changed or even cancelled.

Now, it's possible for them to tweak the skin for minor improvements while it's on the PBE. Maybe even more drastic changes (but not a complete redesign) if & only if there is enough negative feedback from the community. But I doubt they'll scrap it. The skin itself is not a bad skin. It's just a missed opportunity for many who feels she should've a legendary, myself included. There are a good number of people who like the skin as it is. To outright cancel the skin would suck for those who do like it.

The goofy, or reverse of character skins are the best. So much better than the edgelord skins vast majority.of the time.

Of course they could have done better for her but riot always goes for the low hanging fruit.

There are tons of champs who don't have skins that copy/paste their original theme because that is not what skins are for. Skin are made for a different view of the champion. Sorry that you yourself hate the idea of Syndra skins having anything to do with fun or light heartedness but it going to happen. In time she may end up with a more darker theme but for now it gonna be Star Guardian.
