How doesn't heaven and hell work in league?

With the new skins for riven and Yasuo, I was just wondering how heaven and hell fall into league lore.

I never said Lucifer would be Satan himself. But many interpretations are telling about the fall of Lucifer from heaven to the underworld.
The statement "Lucifer is not Satan himself" is not entirely true. Different interpretations are possible in this world, especially in religion. There is not one true meaning. In some interpretations, Lucifer is actually a synonym for Satan.

If you say that Lucifer is not Satan in your opinion, then that's fine. I for myself prefer the version of the story that Lucifer was an angel starting a rebellion against gods totalitarian reign and got thrown down to hell because of it, becoming his main antagonist.

Riven and Yasuo is about chaos and order not heaven and hell persay. Heaven and hell may or may not exist and also may or may not be a thing based on religions in runeterra. Demacia worship or at least have a deity called the Veiled Lady so take that as you will. Bilgewater has Nagakaborous. So yeah

He calls her angel directly so I assume it is about heaven and hell.

An angel and demon aren't necessarily from heaven and hell, for example in D&D they come from a demon like realm which has no connection to the afterlife... to my limited understanding of the board game.

Minor correction, but it's a tabletop rpg. Also commonly referred to as a pen and paper rpg.

It depends on which setting. But in the "main" setting for D&D angels and demons are part of the afterlife, they're just tied closer to alignment than to specific religions.

Angels could come from any of the Good afterlifes (Celestia for Lawful Good, Elysium for Neutral Good, Arborea/Olympus for Chaotic Good) Demons were from the Chaotic Evil afterlife (The Abyss) Devils were from the Lawful Evil afterlife (The Nine Hells/Baator)

Actually Raffen mentions "seven hells" in the Harrowing event.... so, people from Runeterra do belive in hell.

Anyways, about the question of the OP: Skins are not canon, so, dont consider those skins of Riven and Yasuo.

Probably because its a fantasy world unlike ours and it wouldn't be very interesting.

It also might offend certain people.

Most importantly though, Runeterrans don't exactly understand the afterlife and it might be very complex in how it works.

It presents an afterlife, something concrete after death which can end up cheapening death in story.

We do have proof hell exists or is at least believed in. In the Harrowing event, someone, forgot his name, says, "Seven hells...", as a way sound surprised. This means they do, in fact, believe in A hell. If the Gatekeeper Galio skin is of any proof, this likely means that the Runeterra version of hell is separated into many different sections, likely seven. Galio refers to nine different circles of hell, so it's likely hell is a much more complex landscape than thought. We DO have proof demons exist too. Shen constantly fights humans and demons alike, killing humans who would slaughter demons for no good reason and upset the balance.

Demons and hell is likely something very complex in Runeterra. I would certainly like to see the concept of it in Runeterra explained in further depth. Currently, we only know that Shen can visit or somewhat exist in a plain parallel to our own where demons exist. If we could get further details on it's existence and what power rules it (pretty sure Teemo ruling it is just a joke), then we could add another list of antagonists (or perhaps complicated anti-hero/protagonists) to our list of champions.

I think we could say a couple things for certain though:

We do not know if hell (and heaven if it exists) is actually somewhere to go in the afterlife or just the home of demons
If hell exists and is a place to go in the afterlife, then an equivalent for good likely exists (heaven)
Kindred probably knows

The notion that having hell exist in Runeterra would offend people is also completely ridiculous to me for several reasons.

We have ALREADY explored hell in LoL with multiple skins. Teemo is the devil himself.
Demons (and maybe angels if you count Kayle and Morgana) already exist in LoL through Shen's lore.
The Harrowing quote already proves A hell exists.
So many other gaming companies have done a concept of hell that if anyone is offended, they would be such a minority that no one would really care about their complaints. I mean, for heaven's sake, look at Doom.
