Camille, the Master Manipulator, or at least the Hand of the Manipulator
I'm sure most of you have seen the SS video of Camille's special interactions by now. I noticed something rather interesting within the video: Camille has a few interactions that would seem to indicate her being a manipulator of several characters within Piltover, and possibly having a role in the inner circle that would control Piltover entirely, much higher than
's authority.
Follow me on this...
Her quote to
:
"Your antics have become a liability."
So...in order for something to become a liability, it must first not have been a liability. That seems fairly obvious, but clearly Camille at one point viewed
as useful for something. What? Maybe distracting
and
so the powers that be have nothing to worry about from Piltover authorities meddling in their business. I mean, what's more dangerous on the outside: wanton destruction or backroom deals and assassinations?
Her quotes to
:
"Your revolution has ceased to be useful."
"You have become an obstacle to progress. Time to remove you."
So same scenario as for
:
apparently posed some usefulness to Camille or her benefactors, but once his usefulness is removed, he's cut loose. Literally. Why? We know
and
don't get along in the slightest, and
is well regarded as a hero of Piltover. So, if she's able to manipulate
, she's also capable of manipulating
. Now what exactly could
's usefulness be? Maybe by keeping
occupied, she doesn't have to worry about him showing up and messing up her exploits. It would seem that's a likely scenario, since there could be a huge moral debate within Piltover and Zaun over
's work, which we know
is vehemently opposed to.
Her quotes to
:
"I am the one who keeps the wolves at bay."
Now there's a lot of potential that her quotes relate to
's inevitable VGU, which is almost certainly right around the corner, possibly next patch. Here's the interesting thing: this saying refers to an old tradition of wolf packs where when wolves would be in pursuit of prey, they would not immediately attack, but remain a distance off and wait for a more opportune moment or until some present threat to themselves is gone. Now, Camille is implying that there are "wolves" all around Piltover, and that she is the "peacekeeper" in a sense, or the one who ensures the "wolves" do not destroy the city. Now, with
's VGU on the way, this could be a reference to actual wolves being created by some mad scientist; she directly says to
: "Didn't your master teach you to heel?", which would indicated that
is subservient to some master who most likely made him this way, rather than it being self-induced like it is currently in his lore.
All-in-all, it seems fairly obvious Camille has knowledge of the inner workings of the powers that be in Piltover, or it's also possible she is the power that controls Piltover by holding a blade to the throats of the ones in power. Either way, there are dark implications to this champion's introduction, and it's possible that she will give us extensive insight into the more shady aspect of Piltover and possibly Zaun as well. Can't wait to see what happens with the lore aspect as we go forward, especially considering
's VGU will offer some insight as well.
