Can someone explain how Sejuani does her E?

As far as I can tell, she causes ice to freeze/explode on people to slow them down.

Obviously that's not the best explanation, but this is an ability that she can activate from a certain range after hitting them at least once. Sejuani, as far as I know, doesn't have powers, she's just incredibly durable and has a terrifying amount of determination.

So this makes me wonder if Sejuani is actually more closely related to Lissandra rather than Serylda (as I previously believed) and some of Lissandra's ability to manipulate ice was passed down genetically (to the point where it is incredibly rare).

My other theory is that Serylda also had ice manipulation powers like Lissandra, but hers was weaker and required the use of the ice club (that Trundle uses) to really manifest. This could explain why Sejuani was able to walk through blizzards without much protection when she was training herself. Iceborn blood is strong within her.

Thoughts?

I would probably just file that under "gameplay mechanics". Like Garen's magic Sky Beam or Miss Fortune being able to make bullets bounce, it's just a thing to make the character interesting to play.

That said, Sejuani is pretty decked out in ancient Freljordian artifacts, which might have some powers.

Is her flail.... True Ice weapon has magical properties, one has to have affinity with such items to be able to "control" this items thou. As explained by Ashe finding her bow and Trolls (aside from Trundle) not being able to use the Frozen Club.

I also woudl like to mention that out of the 3, Sejuani is the one that has the less "relation" with her ancestor. Lissandra is well the same Lissadra, Ashe has been stated to be decent of Avarosa and wields her Bow that "chose" her. Sejuani has none of that in her lore, she doesn't wield Serylda weapon or has some direct ties with her, so far we have assumed is her decedent because "she looks like her". We don't even know if Serylda is dead or alive (we assume she is dead) unlike Avarosa which Lissandra killed her and lissandra that used dark ice to achieve immortality.

This thing she does is probably due to her weapon, Flail of the Northern Winds, being made out of True Ice, which is a powerful, never-melting kind of magical ice, and it (sometimes?) gives the ability to manipulate ice.
