For those Champions who aren't aligned with any of the major factions, when are we going to be getting updates on them?
Examples include:
In particular, I want to know what the heck is going on with our two angelic Champions, Kayle and Morgana.
I think they'll all be 'connected' to a certain realm or area of Runeterra.
For example, 
are all independent (Kha'Zix is the Void, but he's more independent than aligned with Malzahar and them), but they could all be connected to a Kumungu Jungle event.
and 
are the types of champions that are extremely important to the lore. They are in those regions because in the future they may play significant roles.
is like the protagonist of the Shadow Isles but he is unable to do anything about it because if he tries to, the maiden of the mist WILL take him over hence he uses ghouls to research exactly what happened. Maokai however can roam freely and journey to the center of the Isles where it all happened.
It is theorized that Rammus used to be an ancient Ascended (

) are ascendants, is Rammus their fate, to become fully animal? How old is Rammus in that case? In a future story it is possible through him the secrets of the ascension ritual could be revealed.
So, yes, these champions are stagnant to the lore. Because they deal with a greater and bigger picture (Rammus more so than Maokai).
Yeah, there are a LOT of them. Now that Universe is out though, I think they might just occasionally give random champions new stories, like they did with 
etc. Hopefully all those stories weren't just to help the launch of universe, and they will continue to make more like them.
I think that once they finish covering all of the major regions (they still have Demacia, Noxus, Bandle City and Ionia to do, and maybe another Freljord one, since we didint really get much from the old one.), they will start focusing more on the lone wolf champions. Hopefully we get to see more stories like Shadow and Fortune, that showcased different champions (Lucian and Olaf) in a different environment, letting them interact with more champions.
