So I've noticed that "musical flourishes" are becoming more common in game.

Starting with Bard who has a very musical theme towards him already, the chimes he collects will play music while he's collecting them. Then going onward to Jhin whose theme starts playing when he ults. Next up is Kled whose theme also plays when he ults, and additionally the background music of SR will change whenever he is dismounted. Finally we go to Yorick, who causing a change in background music when the Maiden is summoned.

I don't really have a point with this I just wanted to say that I think it's awesome. GJ creative team, you guys are stepping up your game in a great way.

It actually has a use. The music serves as an auditive signal, complementary to the visual signal. Dismounted kled, for example, has an oppresive music to make you feel your position of weakness. The music for Yorick's maiden helps him to understand when she's alive, without needing to see her.

Hopefully this trend continues in the future! Audio signals for what's currently happening in-game, plus an additional dimension in which a character's personality can show.

all of the new sound effects make me actually not want to mute my computer when i play league. so that's definitely a good thing. i got tired of listening to the same old same old boom boom boom boom boom "wELlllCOme to SUMonNErrrs riftah" crappy bagpipe/flute/clarinet solo starts playing GONG SPLASH!!!!!
