Why does Malazhar have a dagger but never uses it. It seems like stabbing someone with a dagger be a lot more lethal than throw void power/ooze at them. You can see him use it in his taunt and recall but never uses it in combat even when he crits.

Similar to how Riot kept implying Jinx might be related to Vi, but never actually confirmed it. Only that Kassadin's daughter was abducted and he tried to stop Malzahar from sacrificing a young girl.

And in the end Malzahar didn't kill Kassadins daughter with the dagger,the dagger absorbed some of kassadins magic and opened a rift to the void,which pulled in kassadins daughter.

I think it may something like this, in the case of Malzahar. The Kirpan is to be kept on the wearer in observation for the culture and religion but is not really meant to be a weapon.

A small dagger that gets used by someone who has no outstanding physical abilities seems pretty weak compared to that.

Sometimes you can rely on your magic. Malz likely considers that possibility and carries a dagger with him for some sort of self-defense due to paranoia.
tbh, i would orobably do the same thing if i were a magic user. It is not like the dagger is particulary heavy or something anyway
