Why does Malazhar have a dagger but never uses it. It seems like stabbing someone with a dagger be a lot more lethal than throw void power/ooze at them. You can see him use it in his taunt and recall but never uses it in combat even when he crits.

Because Kage's Lucky Pick was removed from the game

I doubt the dagger would be more effective than his void magic,I mean we are talking about a game, where the characters survive it when they are hit by giant axes and swords mutliple times. A small dagger that gets used by someone who has no outstanding physical abilities seems pretty weak compared to that.

Because his AP ratios are retarded and he totally DOES do more damage than his dinky sacrificial dagger does

Why does Malzahar have a dagger but never use it? Why does Caitlyn have a rifle but buy nothing but swords and a bow? Why do boots make Kayle faster? Why is Jarvan listed as a tank when he can 1 shot people? The world is full of mysteries man.

In addition to being used in rituals, it might still come in hand.

Sometimes you can rely on your magic. Malz likely considers that possibility and carries a dagger with him for some sort of self-defense due to paranoia.

tbh, i would orobably do the same thing if i were a magic user. It is not like the dagger is particulary heavy or something anyway

I'm guessing it's a ceremonial dagger.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Kirpan_small.JPG The kirpan (/kɪərˈpɑːn/; Punjabi: ਕਿਰਪਾਨ kirpān) is a ceremonial sword or dagger carried by baptized Sikhs.[1] It is a religious commandment given by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699 in which all baptised Sikhs must wear five articles of faith at all times, the kirpan being one of five articles.[2][3]

I think it may something like this, in the case of Malzahar. The Kirpan is to be kept on the wearer in observation for the culture and religion but is not really meant to be a weapon.
