MF is the only one of this roster who has shown leadership skills in sacking Gangplank and the takeover of Bilgewater.
Soraka is more related to star guardian powers than anyone with her title and lore being "The Star Child" and thus more deserving of the legendary skin upgrade.
Ahri is getting all this shine purely because she sells the best
Honestly, if it wasn't Ahri, I would not go with Soraka. Her VO fits perfectly with the skin line, so it would've been a waste. If anyone, it should've been Syndra; her VO doesn't fit at all. We don't know what kind of character angle they're trying to work with her. I'm not saying this because I'm some ticked off Syndra fan boy/girl (I've never played her a day in my life), it just seems like the logical choice if it wasn't Ahri. I don't really have a strong opinion that says Ahri shouldn't have gotten the skin, but I know that Soraka shouldn't have gotten it.
I don't see why a champion's title should determine their skins. Skins are meant to be an alternate personality of a champion, they are supposed to be dynamic.
In addition to that, Soraka is in my opinion the worst pick for the legendary. Her lines most fit that of a star guardian compared to the other four, and the updated VO would honestly just be wasted on her. Ahri, MF, Ezreal, and Syndra are all far better candidates.
Actually when it comes to leaders, being skilled/experienced isn't really a key factor in anime teams. >.>
Sailor Moon - Usagi/Serenity is dumb as a post and is only "Leader" because she is the Princess and the one with the most power because plot
Pretty Cure - Most team leaders aren't always the brightest bulbs in the group (that usually falls to their second in command/best friend/whoever the blue/white cure is that time), but the Lead Cure will usually have the most heart, determination, and sheer drive to put herself out there for others.
Super Sentai/Power Rangers - Same as Pretty Cure. A number of times we have had Red Rangers that more or less fall into the job by dumb luck or fate and have to go from there, at times even butting heads with whoever the Number 2/Blue/Black Ranger is (See Power Rangers S.P.D. to see this) about who is right for the job of leading the team.
Eh at this point I just want my skin, if MF should be leader of anything it should be within the Dreadnova Skinline :D also have that be legendary please riot let's goooo!!!![zombie-nunu-tears]

Issue is that star guardian MF is kind of a joke or somewhat silly though.
Having her trying to act all manners of serious and leader-like while going on a startrip is kinda silly in some ways.
Captain Fortune is all we need, that and some voice lines about improvising and why the rum is gone......
To be fair, Soraka's lore is severely outdated. She may not even have that title anymore.
Also be honest, if MF had gotten the legendary, people would still complain.
I want a SG Leona skin where Leona is the first SG/ leader of all the SG. And SG Diana.
Syndra should've gotten the legendary, MF and Ahri shouldn't have been of this skin line.

However, MF is more of a sharing knowledge champ. She did and was a captain before, she already been doing the leading style, so in this SG skin line MF is serving as a mentor. A leader has to also be the strong type, someone who is a jack of all trade. Yes you nailed it, Ahri is the best champ to be the leader of SG. Syndra desires power, a champ who desires power is always 2nd place. Ez is ez. Soraka is more of a support, and she is a support champ, in the end Ahri is the most capable champ to serve as a leader.
While I don't think Ahri should have gotten the legendary skin, I'm fine with her being the leader of the group. Considering skins are usually alternative fantasy, Ahri being the leader isn't really that bad.
