I mean, I've been playing since S2 and I desperately miss the old colorful, vibrant, and cozy Summoner's Rift map. There is no way it is coming back either and I do not understand why there isn't an option to toggle it back.
Sure you can change the SS theme song to the classic one, but it's just so ill fitting with the putrid, colorless new map.
There's no option to turn it back on for a few reasons, I believe.
The first is that champion abilities are designed with the new map in mind as far as clarity goes -- and you can't design equally for good clarity on several color palettes.?
More important, the map geometry, pathing, and, in a few cases, the placement/size of specific map and jungle elements have actually changed from the original map, so a toggle would actually mean having to redesign the old map from the ground up again, as well as creating old-map matching graphics for all plants, drakes, jungle minions, and so forth. It's a TON of extra work.
