Some personal comments on Quinn's lore
In the previous lore there was a real reason as to why Valor and Quinn developed such a strong bond, being that Quinn nursed Valor back to health and in turn she also overcame her depression over losing Caleb. Now it just seems Valor comes outta no where to help Quinn for whatever reason and than decides to stick with her? Maybe this is just a thing for Azurite Eagles, they just go around and help Demacians and that's why their like a symbol for Demacia kinda. Maybe it's like a "emotional reference to Caleb" or something with how she "saw in it's eyes a deep well of kinship". I think the meet up was poorly done in my opinion.
I already dislike Sona in game and don't care about her much in lore, I dislike her even more now after reading about the Buvelles being kinda the reason why Caleb died. Also it feels like the only reason they were introduced into the story was so that "Wow Quinn is good but nah she isn't like legit"-Demacia Guy, "Wow no she saved my life in the past and I remember her wow so let her in wow"-Buvelle girl. Just seems like pointless fluff, I'm reading Quinn's lore not this other mumbo jumbo, if anything this bit only tells us that the Buvelles have influence over what goes down in Demacia, which shouldn't really be a part of Quinn's biography . It's nice information but why in her biography, if you wanted to hint at Buvelle so much at least put it in her short story.
I remember when Quinn and Valor was ACTUALLY Quinn and Valor, if Rito really wanted to try and bring that duo partnership back they could've at least went into more description about Valor this time around.
I wonder if the Day of Lost Night will be a lore event, sounds great if it is and also sounds like it connects a bit to the Garen and Lux story "For Demacia" cause 'Day of Lost Night' is dark and relates. That'd be neat.
Moving onto her short story, really loved the art they made, looks great even though it's simple compared to the splasharts they have, all the sketches look amazing.
At first I thought "eh this is kinda lame with the steps" but after reading I enjoyed it. I guess I just had a bit of prejudice on different writing styles.
Riot did a great job at aligning the current character in game to the character we have now. I can totally imagine Quinn doing this,"the decision made, she pushed herself to her feet and strode into the campsite as if her being there was the most natural thing in the world. She stood at the edge of the firelight, her hood raised and her oiled stormcloak drawn tightly around her". All while making sure the necessary precautions we're made and that she wasn't being reckless at all.
Learned that an oiled stormcloak is a cloak that is kinda water proof, back in the day they waxed stuff so it made it water proof, liked the detail they put in here also with setting and how she would have to get the bugs up outta her clothes.
Writer did an amazing job at describing the whole action scene, I felt the badassery when Quinn took the cloak off and fired the first shot like DAMN! It was like one of those badass things where the person goes in and everyones dead and than freezes at the end.
I found it difficult to visualize Valor fighting though, I don't wanna blame it on the author and I can't really critique because I have never read or watched anything of a bird fighting. I just don't understand how it would work and it really sucks that I have troubles visualizing the teamwork going on.
