If Ao Shin really does get released in 2016
I hope he comes with an Ionian Event.
I hope he comes with an Ionian Event.
Yes, Ionia is the best region!
I guess he'll be released alongside an event.
ionia is in dire need of a retcon,I mean we still don't know how the ionians managed to defend themselves against noxus and
lore doesn't make sense.
Ionian lore makes no sense, but in a whole lot of ways the lore surrounding Demcian and Noxus is even more of a mess. Some champions make sense since they were released after summoners were axed, some were released long before and haven't been touched since... The whole conflicts between Noxus vs Demacia vs IoW is even more of a lore related apocalypse right now because removing the IoW wrecked everything forever.
They've been hitting regions with not that many champions related to them while regions like Ionian/Demacia/Noxus that probably have the most champions associated with them (and the closest ties with the IoW) high and dry in a lore clusterf*ck.
I wouldn't say that Noxus and Demacia were hit that hard by the retcon.
demacia and noxus were always enemies, there was barely any dynamic between them and the IoW(the only times where it really mattered were the kalamanda incident and that noxus was targeting those who were not under the protection of the IoW)
Well, that's not true. The Kalamada incident was a big lore event that effected Swain, J4, Garen, Kat, and Leblanc for sure, and likely effected several other champions from Noxus/Demacia as well indirectly.
Not to mention that a lot of the champions from Demacia and Noxus joined the IoW specifically as a ploy to make their nations stronger, and a whole lot of them have large parts of their lore that heavily reference the IoW and summoners.
I mean, good lord, you can't argue that Ionia needs fixed without arguing that Noxus needs fixed lore wise because of the confict between Ionia and Noxus. If Noxus needs fixed, their biggest enemy (Demacia) will also need fixed because without the IoW odds are they are actively at war with completely clashes with the detente that is present in a whole lot of the lore for those characters.
Well champions from almost all city states joined the league to represent their nation, thats not really something special. You can just as well cut the "and for that reason they joined the league"-part and their lore would still make just as much sense as before.
And I myself did mention the Kalamanda incident, but even though it was a big incident,it didn't have nearly the same effect as the noxus-ionia invasion. I mean the kalamanda incident only really affected Swain(his rise to power) and the Darkwill family(their fall from power).Aside from that the character backstorys largely remained the same.
However the kalamanda incident is the only noteable event in that regard and if you look at the ionia invasion,it left a much larger impact on a lot of champions(

and indirectly
)
Yes Demacia is now most likely in a real conflict with noxus, but that is something that we know from sions lore(it details how Sion destroyed a demacian fort for swain)
Yet you ignore the champions from Zaun/Noxus that were associated with that invasion (with the exception of Riven).
There is no Ionian lore without Noxus lore. There isn't Noxus lore without Demacian lore. Which is probably why Riot has danced around those three groups in favor of small city states so far. Because a lore event with Ionia will likely be a lore event with Ionia, Noxus, Zaun, and Demacia all together beating the crap out of each other.
Well how many noxian&zaunite champs were really affected by the invasion? Riven is the only noxian champ who is known to have participated in the war(and I did count her) on the side of noxus(singed is most likely going to take Warwicks original place) The others had nothing to do with the invasion and neither Zaun nor Noxus as a whole have changed through it.
Well, let's look at this logically... Singed is likely there with the chemical warfare that was used. Riven obviously was. Swain is one of the most respected generals, and he wouldn't need to be physically present to make an impact. Possible Warwick was involved, but that is more tenuous. Urgot fought so often and sustained such garish wounds that he had to be made into the thing he is now somewhere, and it is just as likely that was against Ionia as Demacia without anything to say otherwise.
Then you get into the Du Couteau family and their likely involvement in Noxian conflicts and business (which means Talon and Katarina could make an appearance). Not to mention Mundo and Zac could both have been present.
Not to mention that any way between Noxus and somewhere else is likely to further instigate violence from Demacia against Noxus because it would make sense for them to time a greater investment against Noxus when they are already involved in a war on another front. Or the fact that, ideologically, Demacia and Ionia have several different points of mutual agreement and make one of the most probable alliances against the Noxus/Zaun alliance. (If number of champions is any indicator of relative military strength, Zaun + Noxus would be stronger than any two other city states, which would necessity alliances between factions that are at war against Noxus/Zaun to increase the odds of realistic victory.)
I'm not saying that an Ionia event would have to include a lot of Noxus or Demacia, I'm say that it would make the most sense for it to include all of that. A large scale conflict between a Demacia/Ionia alliance and a Noxus/Zaun alliance would arguably be one of the best lore events that could happen (much like a large event to counter the Harrowing from the rest of the world against the Shadow Isles and the armies of undead from there would make a GREAT event).
Further, Noxus is constantly changing based on the outcomes of the conflicts they are involved with because of how Noxus is run as a city state. The strong rise to the top, the weak are discarded. So anyone involved with the invasion of Ionia who failed would be in a very awkward place upon returning defeated which naturally creates a point of conflict in Noxus itself from the champions who return as failures.
I'm not saying that it would make 0 sense to have an event just for only Ionia or Zaun or Demacia or Noxus. I'm not saying those events couldn't be good or even great events. I am saying the BEST event would include the conflict between all of those groups because that is what makes the most sense because there is no way to fully illustrate the effects of those conflicts by showing only one of those groups. Bilgewater and Shurima may be large self-contained independent entities that aren't that involved in world politics... The same cannot be said for Ionia/Noxus/Zaun/Demacia. Largely because of the conflicts that exist between all of those nations.
Overall my main arguement is that the champions from Noxus went rather unaffected by this. For the Ionians this war was one of the most important events that ever happened to them. But for the noxians it was tuesday(eer I mean just another war).
I'm not saying an Ionia event centered around the war would focus exclusively on the ionian champions, but it would focus mainly on the ionian ones,as it had a far greater effect on them.
Cassiopeia is a noxian champ, yet she had an important role in the Shurima event.
Really? I just assumed that
was the same, just without the institute of war. Riot said that summoners still exist after the retcon, so Lee Sin could still be an ex-summoner.
The problem is that he lost his eyes,by setting himself on fire to get Ionia a rematch in the league of legends. Since the league doesn't exist anymore, his protest doesn't exist either(at least not like this).
I guess he'll be released alongside an event. ionia is in dire need of a retcon,I mean we still don't know how the ionians managed to defend themselves against noxus and
lore doesn't make sense.
I thought Karma blew the fuck up a high ranking officer in her lore and caused all the remaining forces to retreat or give in even?
Karma killed ONE noxian general, causing ONE battalion of noxians to flee/surrender.
The whole noxian army won't retreat just because one guy gets killed....
You spelled 5050 wrong.
I remember back when Ao Shin was revealed, a bit of his Lore involved him showing up when Ionia is in the most danger.
PROJECT: Ao Shin
At this point, it's hard to believe that Ao Shin isn't a myth haha. It's been so so long. But an Ionian event would be fantastic!
no offense, but Ao Shin looks like the most boring champion ever...
Probably too much hype, which isn't really bad itself but, we should consider that Riot stated that the final Ao Shin could even look more different than what we saw. Hell, they said they could even not call him Ao Shin when realeasing him.
Ekko is a boring champion, Riven is a boring champion, Katarina is a boring champion....I could go on and on but I think you get my point.
It will be a Demacian event because it makes more sense. Shyvana is in Demacia and Jarvan has a history of fighting dragons
Anivia > Ao Shin
Ao Shin =/= Duke Nukem Forever
Oh, i thought Ao Shin was cancelled
Hopefully we can see an Irelia VU with this possible event as well :D
