Are we going to get any more eye candy females?

I know riot is trying to avoid eyecandy and the last two champs with any soft assets were a fish and girl in a pvc spider outfit... Well I find Vi sexy, and she has a nice butt, but I'm probably one of the few to think of her like that.

Point is, it's been going on 2 years since those champs were released. Now don't get me wrong, and while I think a lot of people appreciate the lack of sexy new ladies, seeing as how we semi-recently got an eye-candy male released (Braum) maybe it's time for riot to try releasing a new sexy, visually appealing (big boobed) lady again. Variety is the spice of life so I think we need some variety in the style of new female champs and for at least one champ, move away from the non-sexy female trend. It's been long enough I think and riot has shown they can do variety.

I'll say this much, and this is painting with a broad brush since I'm not on the Champion team proper..

There would be a "sexy" lady if the champion in development called for such a sexy lady. The team isn't just going to conjure up something which has the specs of a curvaceous and busty woman arbitrarily. In the past, yeah, I guess sort of a given because hey, thems video games. But I think we've adjusted philosophies to say "What sort of character do we want to make? And what core aspects of look, theme and design will portray that character best?" We also look for opportunities of things we don't yet have in the game, finding "opportunity space", which I think is great, because it forces us to look outside of the tropes we've leaned on in the past.

The biproduct of this shift is that there probably aren't going to be as many arbitrarilly scantilly clad women simply because those aren't really pillars you design characters on top of. That's just taste, and taste is subjective and isn't a foundation you can build off of when you want a diverse character roster.

I can say that on ChampUP there'll be those opportunities in places like Eve or already existing "sexy" champions, unless that particular flavor of sex appeal simply flies in the face of the character we're trying to bolster. Ironically, you'll probably find more "sexy" ladies being updated and outputted by the ChampUP pipeline than the Champion pipeline.

As has been said, we have a lot of "sexy" females already. It's probably time we focused on getting them up to spec versus making a slew of new ones.

I wouldn't consider Braum an eye candy male champion. Nice try though. He is cute, but definitely in no way a '' fanservice '' champion.

If the '' big boobs and revealing clothing '' aspect is the most important thing on a female champion to you, yikes.

NO. This game does not need more sexualized female champions. Get over yourself, Riot has to step up and show that they can progress just like the rest of the world and stop making females with only one type of body. Kalista is a very good new asset to the game, being about more than a sexy body. Almost every female champion in the game who have revealing garments all have sexual inuendos in their vocals, we are tired of it already. Women are people and they deserve to be portrayed as such instead of sex-servants.

Overall eye-candy-females are ok,but like you said, variety is important and we do have many eye-candy-females already,so I don't see much reason why they need to add more.

Not to mention that "big-breasted" doesn't equal "sexy". I mean jinx is completely flat, but she is still considered sexy by a lot of people.

We already had enough... especially with those "fanservice" skins. Even I'm considered fanservice, because "muh lolis".

And on the flip side, they are trying to make more "eye candy males".

But does it mean they won't have anymore? Who knows. But since most of the female champs are cookie cutter shaped....

I'm not saying there will not be another "sexy" lady, but haven't you had your fix yet?

Look at Ahri Akali Ashe Caitlyn Elise Fiora Evelynn Janna Irelia Zyra Sivir Vi Vayne Syndra Sona Riven Nidalee Morgana Nami MissFortune Katarina. Now some of these you might disagree with, but I find them all overly sexualized in one way or another. If it isn't there base skin, then they have one skin that is very suggestive.

With that in mind, what beefcake guys do we have? Maybe a handful, and we need more of that. But overall I would prefer them to make champions like Ao Shin than make a walking model of tits-and-ass.

DwarvenGiant11/15/2014, 2:14:10 PM8 votes

Well, if you mean high-quality champs with larger breast than, say, Quinn, Jinx, Kalista, we did get Syndra and Diana- Yes, it was a bit more than 2 years ago, and IT WAS in season 2, but they are still very high quality. I'm actually ok with that that they keep bringing more variety with female body types, and I think that we have enough big-breast+big-ass female champs, and some are even high quality, so I won't mind if they are trying to make both styles of body types even. :)

P.S: You're not the only one who thinks that Vi is appealing in the ways that you said. ;)

Xulsigae11/16/2014, 10:29:56 PM6 votes

Only if it's thematically appropriate for the champion.

Ahri- Yes. Zyra- No.

How droll. You must be new to the whole puberty thing. Let me tell you something, lad: There's such a large amount of easily accessed adult content based off of this game that your proposal is entirely redundant.

#BLIZZARD is supposedly avoiding being sexist with Overwatch.

Specifically for Overwatch over the past year we’ve been really cognisant of that, trying not to oversexualize the female characters. I don’t know if we oversexualize the male characters. But it’s something we’re very sensitive to. We want that to be part of who we are, what our brand is. -Metzen

#Good job.

I just hope Riot still releases fanservice skins like the Pool Party skins for more than one female character and on an actual living human. (Orianna is just too troll, Riot...)
