ON what world? You do realise that with the new lore the only things we know for sure are shurima/freljord/bilgewater.

Anything else? Unknown. How can we dicuss about noxus/demacia/piltover/zaun/ionia or any other minor factions when after retcon we dont even know what is cannon or not?

There is nothing to talk about in the new lore. There is no substance, no meat. 90% of the lore is gone. Only 10 has been replaced.

we do have something for the shadow isles as well. Not much, just that the Shadow isles invade bilgewater during the harrowing, but something none the less.

Might be coming next month. Since they already visited bilgewater it might be possible they're going to focus on the Shadow Isles for the majority of the harrowing, maybe finally give Mordekaiser that VU he didn't get (no evidence on that, just really hoping ;__;). I could be wrong, but I feel like if they focus on bilgewater again this year, it would likely get boring quick since the harrowing will just look just like last years.

The whole lore is being rewritten, Riot has been utterly inconsistent in what they keep and what they toss out. It's more accurate to consider all unmentioned old lore non-canon until it's confirmed canon.

That's how I see it. Riot already removed the core of the old lore, the geography and at least one whole champion.

Wouldn't put it past Riot to change that entire story. Perhaps remove Kennen from it too. Wouldn't put anything past narrative anymore.

No, we didnt. We are thinking realisticcally. For there to be lore discussion, there actually has to be lore to be discussed about.

But right now there isnt. Narrative has been completely inconsistent with its decisions. We dont really know what is canon or not now. I mean right now, even if it was canon half of the old stories wouldnt make sense.

Did ionia invasion really happened in this new world? Because it had a lot of interference from IOW. DID kalamandra incident happen? Where was fiddle found? Why is lee still a summoner?

We know only about 3 areas right now.

We are not lazy. We are not fine waiting,, thats why create threads that say that we want new lore.

We are not the ones producing "food" that is Riots responsibility, and if they cant do it, dont blame it on us, the people which ARE starved by not getting any story to work with.

To be fair, the guy who made 5 nights at freddy's is pretty much a monster given how fast the next games have come out after each other.

And I'm pretty sure the creator doesn't have anyone else to collaborate with on how the story works. Sometimes having multiple writers slows down the process.

Also no, having mjultiple writers doesnt slow down any processes if you orgnanise everything. Its basic teamworking, 101, the one that you learn in kindergarden.

Also having more people gives more ideas, more writting space.

We've waited more than a year for this whole lore mess to be cleaned up, yet we only got some colourful details about Freljord/Shurima/Bilgewater. That's almost equal to nothing, when we look at the old lore. This "new lore" doesn't even have a world, a core theme, a bloody map?! Nothing.

What could be the reason for this? Riot definitely has professionals, resources, "working force" (i.e. multiple writers). And I find it pretty hard to believe they're going so slow with lore because, for example, they want to make each piece perfect. Or that they simply don't have inspiration. Bilgewater was a stereotypical pirate bay, there was no need for a lot of worldbuilding there. And the map, how hard can it be to make a map? Unless they're making a 3D one, which you can rotate and zoom in and whatnot;

Well the key difference between the two games is that FNAF is a game that has some story progression attached with it. LoL is just there for gameplay and there is not story progression in it. This is also why story / lore is neglected as much as it is, its not the main focus of the game, its the gameplay and I wish they were not in that mindset.

Hm. I'm a former fan. Riot lost my trust when they replaced one of my favorite champions. They, after a year or two being happy with it, realised it was a mistake. But they still don't care enough to fix their mistake.

I can't really invest in a lore, talk about it and be generally happy with it, knowing that it's very feasible that Riot might just bluntly remove another one of my favorite characters for no particular reason.

1 - Know the current state of the world to understand the geopolitical consequences of a rising empire

2 - Know Shurima's influence and size, how rebuilt it is and Azir's plans and power

3 - Give us a reason to remotely care about these characters now that we have absolutely no participation in the world as players

Bilgewater was a good event, but the world is still as dead, lifeless and boring as it was before

For the first two, speculation.

Azir raised it out of the ground and is most likely able to create an army. Seeing his kingdom in such disarray, he might want to bring it back to its former glory.

And logically I cannot see how Shurima's sudden appearance cannot ring alarms in the two constantly warring and most (likely) powerful factions: Noxus and Demacia.

For the last, Because they are the favorites of some players and they might want to guess what would happen.

Does no one like to speculate?

Speculation requires something to speculate on. We dont have anything. We dont know how big is shurima or where is it located, we dont know anything about noxus or even demacia now exept for their champions.

We cant speculate until we have information to speculate from.

I think it's suppose to be Mt. Gargantuan). Though of course it had some issues, Nami for example having to come up to find a moonstone not there. Mt.Targon/gargantuan is nowhere near the ocean.

Alistar is roaming the world trying to find that girl who helped him escape a noxian gladiator ring. Don't remember much about there being an institute of War in his story.

XinZhao also escaped from a noxian gladiatorial ring. Saved J4's dad, loyal to Demacia because of it.

Bard 's animated short seemed to allude to the Noxian invasion of Ionia (and that it's still happening). It didn't outright say that they were Noxians and Ionians, but that's the point of "show, don't tell"

Diana involves the institute? I don't think so. Leona likewise Khazix same Rengar I could go on and on about champions whose lores did not mention the institute of war. Thus I can't imagine that they'd be effected by the removal of the institute.

So yes, a lot of lore has been removed. I doubt it's 90%, more like 60% percent.

You are sure? You know for a FACT that this map is canon? Because last time i checked it wasnt.

Not every league champion story revolves or needs IOW, but many do. Many stories dont make sense now.

And like i said somewhere else, eventhese lores we have now are not canon, remember what happened to skarner and trundle? When they werre turned into something else when their respective places were reworked?

The same can happen to anyone else. I dont trust narrative at all that they wont do this.

It is 90%, because now everything that is old lore is most likely not canin anymore and the only new content we have are the 3 countries.

Cause we still have stuff to work with, it's just not guaranteed to be permanent. And is that a bad thing?

Isn't half the fun of speculation coming up with better ideas than what we inevitably see? Subjectively I mean.

For speculation to occur, you have to have actual information to base that speculation off. We dont have that because the old information cannot be used due to narrratives incompetence in telling everyone what is real and what is not in the lore.

I think they could work Shurima into invading Ionia to make an Ionia event. It might be a bit of a stretch, but Since riot is trying to make no one side purely evil, they could give Azir a reason for invading, something like...

a mystical Relic needs to restore Shurima to it's former glory found it's way to Ionia. When he confronted the Ionians about the relic, they refuse to give it to him due to the dangers associated with said relic. Angered, Azir leads a war with Ionia to take the relic by force. plot twist: The relic is from the Void

Bam, 2 and a half lores covered in one event.

I kind of lost interest in the lore along with the trust in Riots narrative. Probably I'm not the only one that lost interest.

The new lore is also very sporadic in releasing, only whenever something releases there's a burst of discussions on this subforum.

It's very unclear what is canon and what is not, if it is not part of the few events we've had. The old lore all seems fair game to Riot to either throw away or keep as they see fit.

Its clear where their priorities with their franchise, and lore is not even near the top priorities. The News section is the best indication towards it, it shows what their priorities are and what they are most heavily set up to release.

We can still try to. For example, let's talk about Shurima, the newly risen city and former capital of the Shuriman Empire must have surely rang some warnings in the world. I mean, an empire thousands of years old rise again from the desolation of the desert, what does that mean for other countries? What does that mean for the nomadic tribes of the desert like the Sai? Would they find refuge behind the walls of Shurima to protect themselves against the Xer'Sai and their Queen? Is Azir ready to accept the descendant of his subjects under the new "Ascended Shurima"?Are countries like Zaun and Piltover interested in the workings of Shuriman magic/technology? Would they be interested in discovering the secret behind the Ascension process? Are the Solari related to Shurima in some manner? This is just a way to show we can still wonder and talk about the lore of the game. True, the content is not yet very much, but we have the champions too, characters who gave us a bit more insight in other factions. Ekko and Twitche's lore gave us a bit more knowledge about Zaun, Sion lore gave us the History of past conflicts between Demacia and Noxus, stories like Yasuo's give us proof that Ionia-Noxus conflict is still canon and it might have already been resolved. As i said before, you are right to say the lore is not that much, it's still small compared to the old IoW related stories, but that doesn't mean lore is dead. If i had to say something about it i'd say it's in a very quiet state at the moment, if that quiet is going to be broken sooner or later is another discussion for another day. Just my 2 cents

Sai - Not enough information, speculations cannot be done. Zaun and Piltover - Not enough information, speculations cannot be done. Solari - Not enough information, speculations cannot be done.

After the retcon neither of these places were explored, any old information is old, possibly not canon, npt usable for speculations.

Lore aint dead, its in coma, which i dont call living.

We will have discusiions and speculations once we actually get content to do that with.

Yes, but for any speculation you have to have certain information. Right now we dont have much if any. Any speculations that could be done can revolve only about Blingewater/Shurima/Freljord. Other places just dont have enough or any information really.

The amount of new lore is not nearly big enough to sustain discussions and the old lore is all messed up and unreliable, it's not even clear what's canon and what's not. HUGE events like the war between Noxus and Ionia are completely shrouded in post-retcon unclarity.
