Because Riot hasn't given us much to look at. We just kinda have to look at the lore we've had for years and try to find something new to talk about.

OK, Bilgewater event was cool, but did ya REALLY expect things to be different when the event ended? I sure as hell didn't. I would have LOVED to be proven wrong, but all I'm left with is the bitter satisfaction of being proven right once again. I'd trade that shitty satisfaction for real lore any day.
Dont worry, Im sure it will liven up with the next champion release and the next event that will come some 4-5 months, right? Sigh, lore retcon update is slow as fack. It is as you said, disheartening.
Its clear where their priorities with their franchise, and lore is not even near the top priorities. The News section is the best indication towards it, it shows what their priorities are and what they are most heavily set up to release.
I kind of lost interest in the lore along with the trust in Riots narrative. Probably I'm not the only one that lost interest.
The new lore is also very sporadic in releasing, only whenever something releases there's a burst of discussions on this subforum.
It's very unclear what is canon and what is not, if it is not part of the few events we've had. The old lore all seems fair game to Riot to either throw away or keep as they see fit.
Because the discussion has moved from lore to champions who are broken af.
