Considering that after Shurima he was more or less gutted and forgotten with no follow up during the Shurima event. With the Bildgewater event having proven to be that story telling can be meaningful once again with presentation that is nothing short of amazing, I'm curious as to where the Crystal Vanguard will end up.
He'll probably get updated on the next passover of Shurima. My guess is there will be another Shurima event that will update the Dominion map.
His lore will probably tie him to battling Rek'Sai or something.
He might tie into Runeterras history with crystaline/construct magic, which the Protectorate and Demacia seem to have adopted to some extent. He might tie into Shurima's history with the Void; could he have been created to guard against these creatures, or is he a product of the power the Void made available? He could be a product of Urtristan or Icathia, advanced civilizations now forgotten. He might be a vanguard of his race, natural, corrupt or constructed. Maybe he is the first of an army constructed by a long-dead emperor; the terracotta army of Valoran? Maybe he was a gift from robed emissaries to a spoiled king? Time will tell.
Probably skarner will just be the old nice bro we know, but in shurima.
They'll probably release his short story once we roll out of Bilgewater; give us more time to digest such a thing by its own merits and so as not to distract from the Bilgewatery-ness. Dunno how informative it'll be but it'll be something at the very least. I hope it's from his perspective.
They'll probably put it out alongside whatever they have for
