(Fiora) Good Changes on a Bad Design. (7/23 Update)

Another one of these threads! Sorry to all of those who are frustrated with the flood of them. But I feel I need to really elaborate upon my piece here.

I'm speaking as a player in the community who has been playing since about 2012 regularly and have around, maybe more than 500 matches played with this Champion alone. There's no real way to track these statistics over the span of how long I've been playing. Roughly around since when was on free week.

I won't be talking at all about her new kit. I can't play it yet so I can't say whether it's any good or not. On paper, it looks pretty fantastic to me.

So far Riot's response to the feedback has been pretty awesome. It's been three days since the announcement was made and changes have already been implemented to the splash art and the character models. That's a pretty swift response considering that I don't anticipate this making it to live until around the second or third week of August. Kudos for that.

I am all for the direction we've been heading in. This is something that I've been looking forward to for a long while now. I almost fell out of my seat when I heard that this was going to be happening right after Gangplank and Miss Fortune though I had not anticipated it to come so soon. I'm trying to convey that I'm excited.

But for the meat of this discussion. Fiora's new design doesn't immediately read to me as Fiora. That bothers me and from what I've read on Reddit it doesn't seem like the major criticisms are going to be met. (Not to be passive aggressive but why am I receiving more feedback from Reddit than on the boards?)

To me this reads more as a matter of they're not going to rehaul any of the model since that'll take too much time. Honestly. I'm **MORE ** than willing to wait a little longer for cosmetic changes to be made so that Fiora's rework looks more like what I'm used to seeing. When I anticipated this rehaul, I anticipated a change to her kit but not her appearance. I expected updates to her current model and maybe some tweaks here and there like with Miss Fortune.

What I found was something unwelcome that I still don't think a lot of the community wanted. I was welcome to a change but I am not welcome to something dramatic. With that being said. I want her new design to reflect a lot of her old design in it rather than an overhaul that I'm looking at right now. It feels uncomfortable to look at.

This thread addresses a bunch of things I'm more or less in accord with.

I want her hair to be as it was. I want her model to have pair of boots so it doesn't look like she's wearing footy pajamas. I want her shoulder pads to be smaller. I'd like color changes.

Really, I just Fiora to be readable as Fiora.
