Despite the inevitable hype over the new champion, I'm not that exited.
Now I'm not saying riot did or is going to do a bad job with her, because in reading the story I felt like she had potential to be a good and interesting champion. The likes of which would be a fine addition to the game.
My problem is with the relation between her personality and abilities. That and as well the fact that she is likely going to be a battlemage, which seems like we now have too many of due to the Mage rework.
Maybe it's because I was a big avatar fan back in the day and I held this champion up against Toph, but I just don't see myself really liking her.
She seems too emotionally weak to be a geomancer (earthbender), and that's just something that I cannot appreciate in someone with so much potential power. Earth is the element of strength and surety, being secure with yourself and stable. She just does not seem to embody the EARTH side of her character.
If you had ever noticed, the majority of earthbenders in the avatar series were (although goofy most of the time) collected and strong, never unsure or unwilling. seems to possess an excessive amount of some of these traits, mostly in the fact that she isn't (or at least doesn't seem) "strong."
If she turns out to be more, -like in-game then she seems to be a GREAT champion, but as it stands her current lore makes her sound too weak to be an earthbender, and I don't think of her too fondly.
Edit: should have mentioned earlier that her kit may make her incredibly fun, but it's her story that I'm not the most fond of.
I expect great thing from riot, and I hope that that wasnt all they had for this champion.
