Nasus - The Curator of the Sands Shurima

Nasus. The Shuriman Jackal Ascended being now known to essentially be the finder and protector of knowledge in Shurima, as well as the smartest and best tactician the land had ever seen. He did the planning, Renekton did the fighting. The only time that Nasus fights is in the "Ouroboros" story, but he uses claws + his size.
When it comes to Renekton, we got a small glimpse of his weapon and how it attained it. When it comes to Nasus.....nothing. And with Nasus' Weapon being such a popular meme, joke, and essential part of his kit, it baffles me that it wasnt mentioned one time. So I really want to know more about the CANE! How did he find it? Why did he decide to keep it if he never fights? How does it have the ability to Siphon power from living things to make Nasus stronger? How did he become proficient in using this massive Ascended being sized axe(sense it does always seem to be his size)?

The gist is if any of the Lore people would feel like writing me a response somewhere between these 5 questions and a million pages long, I would read the entire thing regardless :D

One thing, the weapon Nasus wields isn't a cane, it's a Halberd.

Well Nasus is based off of the Egyptian god Anubis. Besides the obvious jackal head and the whole life and death cycle (Anubis was a god associated with the afterlife and the mummification process), he also is usually depicted holding some variant of a cane or hoe.

If he didnt had the armor, he didnt had the weapon as well.

He had it before the fall of shurima,but it was said that he put his weapon and armor aside after its fall.

He likely recovered them after he met those mercenaries.

I think both of them are just weapons -- the only reason we see Renekton's emphasized is because he is now a creature of violence and bloodshed, and a weapon is something he sees as an important part of his being: it doesn't matter WHAT the weapon is, so long as he has one.

Nasus, meanwhile, probably still prefers not to fight when he can. The weapon is something he carries, but not something magical or important enough to him to merit lines in his text. I suspect it's a normal over-sized halberd, and that the siphoning power it has is something stemming more from Nasus than from any quality of the weapon itself.

I always thought people called him the Cane because he is Canine. I guess that went over my head XD
