The title really speaks for itself. Updating the man who basically embodies Noxus in all its complexities is a golden opportunity for you to resolve a series of questions fans have been hyped over for years, including:

What/who is ? My headcanon is that he's made a pact with the demon-king of ravens (Beatrice) and joined the collective consciousness of ravenkind, which is where he draws his wisdom and magical powers from. But I'd love to see something more on him, guy's absolutely fascinating.
Is really ? The amount of fan theories and hype this has generated over the years easily outweighs most other League fanwork.
Something something Black rose, backstabbing, plots, conspiracies. These guys: .
Swain's enemies are a fun bunch in their own way. Du Coteau's etc. Then there's investigating the Black Rose and Swain for her own reasons.
There could be a major Demacia/Noxus event which explains why the League stopped existing? Surely if J4=LB this can mean war the destructive old-fashioned way and the League will be forgotten/unnecessary.

All in all this is not something you should just miss, the hype you can generate will move mountains.

I would love a Noxus event involving the noxian champions having to defend their home from Mordekaiser's conquest. It would make them have to prove their philosophy that only the strongest survive, it would make Swain have to get his own hands dirty and protect his position he had spent his entire life achieving and Sion would have an internal struggle between remaining loyal to Noxus and being Swain's pawn or joining Mordekaiser on his quest for eternal conquest and war.

It would be awesome.

Swain lore yes pls. He's definitely one of the more interesting characters in League, but his origins and motives could do with a fair bit of fleshing out for the better.

Gameplay-wise, all I want is for Riot to keep his ultimate.

My head cannon is that Swain is a crotchety old man who was simply tired of kids being on his lawn. Especially Garen as a kid who loved to hide in Swain's bushes. At this point he's so fed up with it that he went to war with the entire demacian country to put a stop to this nonsense.

i also hope with the new lore riot doesn't just make Noxus the bad guys Riot needs to make the Battle of Noxus VS Demacia not a battle of Good VS Evil But a battle of Ideology with Noxus being the more Shady version the Black rose should be Mysterious as in we don't know if they are evil or not.All the other Noxian champions deserve to have deeper back stories and Deeper belief that make them special and make them someone people can hope win!Noxus should be Strength and courage and family above all these values are neither good nor evil until the line is drawn.we can tell Noxus values family to some extent as Kat Talon and Cass are friends and seem maybe really close same with darius and Draven.Darius was the only one keeping him and his brother Draven from dying on the streets of Noxus.The Name Leblanc is a family name of the black rose the leader of the black rose gets that name hence why Leblanc has that name.Swain is one of the biggest mysteries as he has no known family. Vladimir also Deserves to have a badass lore worthy of a blood mage maybe make his personality a sorta Neutral ton where he only really cares about is living and blood.We need to bring more character and more depth to these champions riot. Draven maybe be an egomaniac but that's all he has Darius is also very 2 dimensional if you didnt see how he loves his brother by keeping him alive and his extreme pride for his country by how he enrols in the military to fight for his country.Riot needs to shatter their past limitations and carve a future for Noxus!!!! Quoting what I wrote on reddit on the thread about Swain's proposed rework (in 2 years time):

Swain's the thematic big bad of Riot's lore. He's so entrenched that even after the big lore retcon, eliminating the League of Summoners and all that, Swain's lore is practically untouched and canonically, everything that's been done in his lore has still happened. The Dominion map's introduction is tied to his lore, the final Journal of Justice is his lore, heck even when they made Noxus into an Empire, Swain beating the previous Emperor/Grand General is still what he did.

Swain is the single largest plot pivot in Riot's lore and history.

So it really doesn't make sense that he visually looks like outdated crap unless you have the Tyrant skin, and plays as a champion 5 years behind the meta.

Even the thematic 'bird sorcerer' thing that was Swain's, gets usurped by Azir now! Swain looks like the knock-off now because everyone sees Azir more than they see Swain! And this is Riot's main story 'big bad'! The face of Noxus, the antagonist of just about everyone except Zaun!

I just find it embarrassing. Like if in LOTR, Sauron was animated with paper cut-outs next to the CGI.

I want this rework, Swain needs it. But I don't get why this was such a low priority and delayed for another 2 years minimum. Riot keeps bringing him back up in different bits of lore, and just sets up people to be let down if they get interested in him as a champ and find out just how poorly he looks and plays now.

I get that Swain needs a lot of work to be competitive (nay, playable again); but the delay is really weird. It's not like he disappeared from events or lore entirely, he keeps being brought back up, either in Sion's rework, or even Gangplank's rework (just the anecdote about Swain's ship being stolen but it's still a thing). People/players will take an interest in the leader of most antagonistic force in Runeterra, and he looks like and plays like crap now because he hasn't been updated in over 5 years!

Jarvan IV is still presentable, and despite being Swain's rival, J4 in fact barely comes up much in lore or events anymore. But it's not the same for Swain.

It's about presentation. The 'Big Bad' of your (Riot/LoL's) story has to look presentable, and except in the Tyrant skin, Swain really is outdated as hell.

Swain rework will be a great opportunity for Noxus event and many of champs updates.

A ton of questions waiting to be answered with this event. Especially Kalamanda incident,

Swain's (or Beatrice's) true power. We know that Xerath Syndra or Lissy have more powerful than him but I don't think so because the champs were more introduced by Riot. We don't really know who or what Swain is. His rework should clarify this.

I would be all for Ascension returning but instead of it being around Xerath it's about Swain this time.

Multiple laserbeaks, snares, DOTs and when he gets low, heals for days.

I would love to see a Noxian event with all Noxian champs getting a place in the spot light (cough Riven Katarina cough cough). Noxus seems super interesting imo so I hope that it comes some time soon
