Not really liking the Ahri stories
It's not that they are terrible, the new direction just feels wrong. It's just like I had an idea of Ahri, but this isn't matching it so I don't know what to think of it besides there's something off about everything. I think riot is reconning too much about her story, and even though some people like it, I'm not one of them. Ahri lacking responsibility and the desire to become something better isn't Ahri. IDK what the balls thing is going on about and frankly I don't find it interesting at all. It feels like you guys wanted to tell a story and then jammed Ahri into it because she's popular but without really understanding her.
So I guess I'll just have to wait and see what Ahri's background 3.0 is like.
You know what the biggest problem with all this world building jazz is? You are doing it for the wrong type of game. If this were an MMO or any type of RPG and we visited the world building stuff, that'd be cool. If this were MTG and we got snippets of the world with the decks we were building, that'd be cool. If this were a PnP style game and these were hooks for adventures players could go on, that'd be cool.
But these aren't any of that.
Anyways I digress. I think these stories would be better if they got the champions they were talking about. Maybe I'm still bitter about possessed murdering brute Leona and her demon friends but it seems like Riot is just doing what ever and tacking the names of whichever champion they can on a story. I know people wanted more and better backgrounds and stories, but this really isn't cutting it.
Is it too soon to ask for another recon? Maybe one that understood the champions and developed them further from who they were instead of throwing darts at a board?
