Considering the base skin... this was Yi 20 years ago.
I've honestly never understood the fascination of masked character types. Like, no matter how good or how evil the person is, unless the mystery character is someone we didn't expect, underneath the mask is always just gonna be a face. Whether it's a good looking face or a hideous one is all left to creation, but even then it's still always just gonna be a face; the character is always gonna be the same regardless of them having a face now. And I'm not even just talking about Yi here; any type of media where we've got some person running around in a mask, everyone is always like, "OMG, who's under the mask?!" And then we finally get the mask off and it's like, "OMG, it's a person! With a face! :O" [slayer-pantheon-rainbows] *Explodes*
