Turns out Poppy (and thus other Yordles) live very long lives

Poppy

Poppy's lore claims that she was around when Demacia was "an ambitious new nation". Seeing as Fiora's lore is full of stuff about laws and traditions (which would require that Demacia be at least a century old), this means that Yordles must have longer lifespans than humans.

But then again, Riot absolutely hates talking about Champion ages because "CONTROVERSY!".

Incidentally, if Poppy really is hundreds of years old, she must be pretty dang dense not to realize by now that she's the hammer's intended owner. Guess she fills the "Idiot Hero" trope appropriately.

They could be effectively immortal as long as they have purpose. Kinda like Pathfinder Gnomes.

+1 for TV tropes.

Well, I already know how that short story will end. It turns out the legendary monster slayer Poppy has heard of is a literal legend; she has been searching so long, and so oblivious to the flow of time, the potential hero has already grown old and died.

Hence, commemorating his achievements in a statue.

Edit: Disregard; my reading comprehension is pathetic at the moment. Finals will do that to you.

Poppy is the Slayer, the statue is just an idealized version of her likeness.

I'm going to assume that Demacia isn't that old. Of course, comparatively, A kingdom that's 200 years old may seem big and grand but it's still not THAT old. Especially when you'd compare it to a fallen empire like Shurima or an enternal vigil like the Iceborn in Freljord.

Considering Lulu's lore...she must be from a time LONG since past.
