@RiotJaredan, since Garen's uncle was killed by blood magic, was it Vlad?
Seven months later, Garen's uncle died in a tragic accident. It was said he was slain in battle, but Garen soon learned from the whispers throughout his family’s estate a **mage's bloodletting spell **had taken his uncle’s life. This confirmed Garen's worst fears about the horrors of magic and he vowed angrily to never let its presence within Demacia's walls. Only by following Demacian ideals, only by displaying Demacian strength, could the kingdom be kept safe from the corrupting influence of magic.
It's interesting because the implications for Noxus are numerous. Was it Vlad, Vlad's predecessor, or another blood mage?
Either blood mages are somewhat common and its an art any gifted mage can study, so Noxus or a different enemy faction employed a blood mage
Or
Blood mages are like the Sith - master and student, and the Art is passed from master to student through knowledge and enchanted blood(which is an the idea we got from the old lore). So that there is only ever one master of hemomancy (hematurgy?) alive.
I'm asking because in the former case this changes our idea of blood magic as an art practiced by malicious hermits; the latter either means Vlad is far older than he looks (which is permitted by regenerative magic I guess) or his predecessor Dmitri also served Noxus. Either way I'm trying to get more info about this curious incident here.
I sure can't wait for the Noxus update :3
Posting a DA blood magic fan art because why not http://orig11.deviantart.net/7043/f/2010/304/3/0/301820790fd6396c6e4f2e3c48fc2eab-d31vsi9.jpg
