Will the Sewn Chaos skin line ever be revived?

We saw a real solid start in the PBE awhile ago, and then they were canceled. I was really excited for these skins, and future Sewn Chaos skins, strong hope for Sewn Chaos Annie and Kalista.

Who knows, maybe Riot just wants to wait on Blitzcrank's and Amumu's visual updates before releasing new skins for them, maybe these skins just needed some hemming on the seams before we see them again.... or maybe the skin line is just dead.

Edit: From the delightful people in the comments reminding me, "cancelled" means permanent, like when Family Guy and South Park were canceled, I sure do miss those shows.

I have the Amumu part cropped as my phone wallpaper, the splashart on this one is absolutely stunning.

Hopefully they do revist this concept in the future

I can't seem to find any comment from "The Developers" about them not coming back, just that they were canceled and would try harder in the future.

They were CANCELED. That right there says they are done with this (for these 2 champs at least). So they won't be coming back for them. They said these two would receive something that better suited them in the future.

Indeed they can still go on with the theme for other champs if they get something that fits their quality standards but we just have to wait and see if that day comes.

Like how Cyber Katarina and Zed were cancelled? Then several months later the PROJECT skin line came out..... and it's not like they got a PROJECT skin or anything...

Yeah, after Riot dedicated months of work into something and it doesn't come out quite right, they just drop it and never touch it again.

Those were scrapped and reworked into something else. That's not at all saying they still came out. That's like saying Aurelion Sol is still Ao Shin, when he is in fact not. They are different concepts in the end.

On top of that, the Cyber Katarina for one was never seen outside of small textures that were found in PBE files and on top of that it was on there WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY before PROJECT ever came. Cyber was found in 2012. PROJECT started in 2015.

Plus there's been various other skin concepts that have been seen and Riot hasn't done anything with them, such as Lunar Karma seen in the PBE store, Jade Empress Karma, Crimson Elite Katarina, a Fire Themed Morgana skin.. the list goes on.

So these cancelled skins can still be reworked into something else? Maybe the Sewn Chaos line will evolve into a corrupted toy line, like Sid's toys from Toy Story, to oppose the clean and proper toys like Renekton, Gangplank, and Poppy.

Yeah, but there are a lot of people who would prefer a melancholy skin, like Sewn Chaos Orianna, than a more bombastic skin like Heartseeker or TPA.

I mean, it's meant to be creepy and unsettling, another take on (old) orianna's character. Old orianna was meant to be an uncanny valley character, and Sewn chaos took another approach to the theme.

Taken from the Update on Sewn Chaos PBE post,

"Carlos “I am Carlos” here, I’m a producer on the skins team, and I want to share an update about Sewn Chaos Blitzcrank and Amumu. After receiving some feedback about the skins, we’ve decided to not release them going forward."

As it currently stands, there aren't plans to bring them back.

Regarding the champions themselves,

"So what does this mean for Blitz and Amumu skins in the immediate future? Well, we’re going to head back to the lab and figure out how to give both champs the skins they deserve."

Oh yeah, the effects looked like garbage and they definitely needed some brushing up, but they didn't really confirm if they would revisit the Sewn Chaos skin line.

I would love more toy based skin, what with the new Toy Box thing they did.

Oh yeah, me too, but still, the effects on their abilities looked like trash, but unfortunately, their effects are old and are basically 2D images, and in order to really do anything with the effects, they would have to recode and remodel the effects for these skins that are visually polarizing and are going to be mostly niche purchases.

Sewn Chaos Annie would probably have a.... scene girl look to her, cutesy, but also dark. So yeah, Sewn Chaos and Goth would each rock the black, but Sewn Chaos would have splashes of pinks and stripes and polka dots, and Tibbers would look like a mess of fabrics, with big button eyes.

Besides, I hate Goth Annies art.

Pink? isn't that current gothic annie fire (pinkish purpleish). The similitudes would be too much. Specially since Tibbers already is a sew monster

I still can't visualize how they would be too similar.

Annie's clothes would look wildly different from Goth Annie's, and Tibbers would be a rainbow of different colors patters and fabrics, with huge glossy button eyes.

Even Annie's hair would be multi-colored, further differentiating the two vaguely related skins.

Again, if we have Goth Orianna and Sewn Chaos Orianna, without confusing the two, why can't we have Goth and Chaos Annie?

Because oriana ball is metal while tibbers is fabric.

Tibbers is already black and pink, that is the color pallet of Sewn Chaos Orianna. You can even see the huge glossy button eye on Tibbers. How else can you make of him to differentiate it from sewn chaos? I agree you could modify Annie quite a bit but not tibbers. And Even annie you could change the face texture but the color pallet still will be fairly similar (because is a black dress with pink details) The concept is completely wasted on Annie.

Yeah, but Tibbers wouldn't just be black, a little pink, covered in fur. He would be a patch work of different fabrics and colors. I....what? I am just giving my feedback on a skin design Riot thought didn't make the cut.

I am saying that I liked what they were going for and I would like to see more in the same vain, but yes, what came to the PBE was not ready. The colors needed some major tweaking and the visual effects were just awful.

Does Swain deserve a new skin? yes. Do I hope he gets it? yes. But personally, I would like to see a relaunch of Swain so he has the visual fidelity and high quality voice over Swain deserves.

Kindlejack has mentioned that AT THE MOMENT these skins and the skinline have no intention on coming back. He has mentioned that getting the skins team to try it out again will be a pretty big task.

It's a huge bummer too, the Amumu skin was cute as hell.

Dude its AWESOME how there's an Annie in the background and how Amumu looks like part of his face is peeled off. The splash art looks dodgy and the stuff of nightmares but THAT'S THE POINT. And we have scary stuff already, like Vladimir...
