Who is Kog'Maw's "Daddy"?

One of Kog'Maw's lines is "terror coming, daddy coming". Is this a champion that we will ever see released?

I know Riot is setting up something to do with the void soon because of Aurelion Sol's lore which involves the void, if briefly, hinting at something dark and powerful.

Thoughts? Theories? Anything from a Rioter?

One of the most common explanations is that it's Cho'Gath. Cho'Gath is the Terror of the Void. "Terror coming, Daddy coming"

After some research I can confirm that it is definitely not Cho'Gath.

To elaborate Cho'Gath was already on Runeterra before Kog'Maw even crossed over from the Void, so the line wouldn't make too much sense.

Ah, the ages-old question...

Well, over the years, there have been all kind of theories regarding that thing Kog'Maw calls "Daddy", and the Void itself as a dimensional plane and a place filled with all sorts of lifeforms. The one I personally liked most (and sorry for forgetting who to credit, but it's one I saw here, on the Boards, a few months ago) is that the Void itself is alive and has its own hungers. There are also mentions from the recent Aurelion Sol lore entry of it, the Void, laughing at Aurelion Sol and his attempts to destroy Voidborn in Targon, so the theory seems very possible.

Aurelion says that something on the other side is laughing, I don't think that writing implies that the void itself is laughing, interesting theory though.

's possible that the Void itself is a 'living' thing with a will all its own. But that sort of set-up usually leans more toward hive-minded servitors, which the intelligent Voidborn don't lend themselves to at all. See Vel's conflict with the other void besties he manifested with. If they were united by a common will, that wouldn't happen. It wouldn't happen even if they were only united with common purpose.

Given all the information we've got, I think the best explanation is that there are several higher powers in the Void. These beings seem to be (tentatively) working together and manifesting Voidborn and Voidlings in various worlds for the purpose of whatever their end-game might be. We know from the in-game quotes and Lore (though that might be out-dated at this point) that the Voidborn existed in some form before they were dumped into Runeterra.

We also know from Rek that at least some Voidborn can start fragmenting themselves once they reach a certain power benchmark.

I like to imagine that the creation of the Voidborn themselves followed a similar path. That they're fractal fragments of whatever horrible Will birthed them. So Kog's 'Daddy' then would be some awful thing that represents the same sort of hunger Kog does, but on a scale absolutely impossible to grasp. Something so huge and so alien that it can't strictly exist in the physical world, so it has to act through these little spores they cast off into Reality to make it a bit more like home.

This is mostly just speculation, of course. I would love it if Riot gave us some more information on the Void besides the fact that it's spooky and purple.

I don't know where it was said, but I'm pretty sure a rioter said that Kog' Maws dad is quite likely as big as SR.

It was huge, yes. It towered over the Rift like... gods... comparing it to a mountain wouldn't begin to describe it. Every footfall caused the earth to tremble, a reverberating rumble like rolling thunder that clutched at the bones and clawed at the mind. But it was more than simply gargantuan. That horror was too titanic to even fit in reality. Limbs swayed across the sky, seemly connected to nothing, simply because that unholy thing was too massive to fully exist here. And at every point where some fragment of the behemoth breached the veil it left a puckered, sucking hole in reality that raked along behind it like a dagger dragged through a wound.

I gazed upon it and wondered...

What chance did we ever have?

Nah, I just shat it out in the span of about five minutes.

But you know what would be neat?

Some descriptions of the old war that booted the Void off Runeterra the first time. Or, you know, more Lore in general. For as old as League is, it has GOT to be one of the least fleshed out fantasy settings I've encountered in ages. My Fucking Little Pony has deeper world-building than League for godsake.
