@Riot, What's the "day-to-day" of the Lore/Stories team?

I'm curious.

There they sat huddled in the cubicles with a shadow hanging over them. They had degrees and a portfolio of their best work that brought them to where they were now, but something felt...wanting. They had the weight of not thousands, but millions of fans seemingly looking over their shoulders. Would this be good enough? Is this the best way to tell this story? Their doubts grew with the anxiety of meeting the expectations of the masses that would either praise their work, reject it. There was no middle ground. Once submitted that would be the end and it would mark your career. The darkly lit cubicle in the corner has one of the staff writting hunched over it. The screen unmoving with a short phrase that seemed to echo long enough to demand his attention: "I'm curious".

After a loud sigh he opens facebook and tries to think of something else for a bit.

I second this question. The lore is one of my favorite parts of the game, and I would love to learn more about the lore creation process and how they relate to the rest of the company. Lore is what made me fall in love with Diana, and it's what keeps me from hating Lee Sin so much that I uninstall the game (Fizz cannot say the same, though). It would be very cool to see how it all is generated, how they decide on which form of storytelling would be best for each situation (JoJ, Shurmina event, champ bios), and if narrative helps design the champion concepts, or simply builds a past for champs they are given. Any information would be wonderful!

Sit and wait for some "inspiration".

I want to think Riot isn't actually paying even one person that is completely focused in "lore". And if they are then they need to put some tangible goals.

Doubly curious. Do they work hand in hand with the other teams that, say, work with game balancing? I'd understand they work with some of the art guys when it came down to new champions and such, but when it comes to adding/retconning lore, how does that process work?
