The old one is more in line with how Shyvana is being played in league. Bland, just like her win rates. The new one is filled with details such as battle damage to her armor, destruction surrounding her, her hands burning so fiercely that you can see strands of melted metal running down from her weapons. It is in my opinion, what Shyvana should be in league. A champion that when you see her picked in ranked you immediately think, "oh shit! why wasn't she banned!?" However that isn't what she is sadly.

Also while almost all the new splash is awesome, there is one thing I hate about it. Her horns. Look at them! They make her head look like a bug's mandibles.

Shyvana used to be pretty strong in the top before this large rise in popularity of ranged lane bullies that she really can't do much against (Lulu, Ryze at the time. Now add Gnar, Lissandra, maybe even Azir to that list), along with her several nerfs. Shyvana is still strong if you play her right, but I feel she's gonna need a few more buffs to make her a potential meta pick.

Perso i just hate her in game size (height and muscle) she could us a buff too for to build more tanky (more bassic ratio etc.) Or her q could stun with a lower damage.

Alistar seems to manage pretty well.

There was a time when I did think "oh shit, why isn't she banned". People were playing her less in the end of season 4, but I don't think it was because she couldn't wreck. She just fell outside the meta. Now in the new jungle, she and most other junglers are pretty much useless.

Her helmet could actually be explained rationally since her armor remains largely the same in dragon form,so the horns might be necessary so that the dragon form doesn't rip apart the helmet.

If I am not mistaken, her in game model haven't received any significant changes, which means her horn might has been there ever since her release.

It is just a matter of the angle. The shape of her horn is hard to tell when she is viewed laterally.

One thing I like so much in the new splash art tho, is her intimidating glare on the viewer. ===> Shyvana

While her play style might remain bland as it is, that glare along which is brought into the game in her champ icon will always give you the mood to fight like Shyvana if anyone dare messing with you.

I rly find her new splash art disgusting. She looks like fukin TRUNDLE's sister. UGLY as fuk. I know she all dragon and all, but shyv was ma gurl. ya nah wut i mean? Softening her face wouldve made her more attractive for the male audiences (well at least for me). And ugh, wuts up with those ugly side braids. They maker her look like a female boxer. Her skin is all tattooed up too like Mystique. I want my shyvy back. I want my baby back. TT_TT Riot wut have u done! On the bright side thou, nice detailing on the texture and color, especially the armor and background, thou i wouldve love to see a noticeable dragon than something that makes noobs think WTF is that behind?

I wish we had more info on the artists who drew these at Riot. Would love to know if its the same artist who is getting better, or a new artist making a spin on the classics we love.

The new Shyvana splash is hands down the most awesome splash to have come out of this new revolving door of champion splash updates. Everything about it is an improvement, in my opinion. Too bad the model is still so bleh. 'Tis why I keep using Ironscale/Ice Drake/Championship skins. All look nice, and the models are pretty good too.
